what a surprise, a rich guy supporting republicans.
He has a point, why don't we ever learn from Europe's mistakes?
i wasn't aware obamacare and taxing rich people automatically made the usa socialist hungary.
Actually in a perfect socialist world everyone would be on the same level.
Say the even level is 0. Poor people are -3, and rich people are positive 3.
In a perfect socialist area, poor people would go up 3, and rich people would go down 3. Not rich go down 3 and poor go down 3.
I don't think this man understands how this works.

people are brainwashed into thinking that stalinism/maoism = every left wing ideology ever

And any thing that any Second World nation of the past ever did must, by default, be a bad idea.
I don't understand the idea that the only reason anyone does anything seriously or with effort is because they might get richer because of it. If that were the case no one would have hobbies or recreation because doing those things doesn't earn you any money. Ironically in the 1950s when Soviet-allied Hungary still existed, our tax brackets here were higher, the Citizens United decision hadn't yet allowed for SuperPACs, and we still had the Glass-Steagall Act in place to regulate banks.
Strange, isn't it?
Posting on FP is my job, if we go socialist I will just post opinionated fb statuses instead
Oh god that horrible editing at the end. "Im Blabla and I am ~responsible..."
Because Social Darwinism is better socialism helping people
He has a point, why don't we ever learn from Europe's mistakes?
Europe's mistake wasn't socialism, it was admitting countries to the Euro that were blatantly cooking their books with exotic derivatives (from American banks) to make their economies appear more sound than they actually were. Then, when the (American) banks fucked up and the system collapsed, it became clear how full of shit Greece and Spain's governments were.

Because you obviously know more about it than someone who has actually experienced it.
This right here, it's like when people scream at professional sports players over the TV, telling them why they're bad.
He has a point, why don't we ever learn from Europe's mistakes?
Like Norway, the Netherlands, and Finland and so on?
Damn I wish our quality of living, education, and so on was as high as those countries... Shit, their homicide rates are about one-sixth of ours.
Yes, lets learn from them. Let us become a social democracy.
Hint: most of the countries above us in infant mortality, poverty, literacy, education, and more are social democracies.

What he experienced wasn't the same thing though.

I wasn't referring to socialism, but okay.
isn't that communism
Communism is a type of socialism. Socialism means that the workers own the means of production, in its simplest form.
By the way, this means Social Democracies like Norway and Sweden are not socialist in the strictest sense. They are a perversion of socialism.
