Conservative MPs chose Leadsom, who was considered a rank outsider when the contest began, over the justice secretary, Michael Gove, who entered the contest last Friday, effectively stopping his fellow Vote Leave campaigner Boris Johnson from entering the race. In the second round of voting by Tory MPs, May scooped up 199 votes, Leadsom scored 84 and Gove was knocked out, with just 46. The choice means that the next British prime minister is guaranteed to be a woman, the second after Margaret Thatcher.
So who is Leadsom exactly?
So who is Leadsom exactly?
I don't think anyone actually knows [editline]7th July 2016[/editline] At least Gove has pretty much been expunged from the front bench
So who is Leadsom exactly?
Pretty much a British Sarah Palin who voted against the gay marriage proposal. Essentially Theresa is the only sane candidate to choose.
Pretty much a British Sarah Palin who voted against the gay marriage proposal. Essentially Theresa is the less insane candidate to choose.
Fixed that for you. Theresa can not ever be described as a sane choice for anything.
So who is Leadsom exactly?
Absolutely obnoxious in the #Brexit debates.
Wow, I guess we're just fucked then
so gove and boris' referendum campaign, the betrayals that followed have now all been for absolutely nothing. what a fucking joke this country is
Super glad Gove is out. But I really do not want Leadsom to win. She just seems incompetent and smarmy to me. As much as I dislike Theresa with some of her privacy policies, she has the experience and the strong personality which is what we need right now. Hopefully she can stop all of this political division bullshit.
Leadsom seems to be completely incompetent and useless to me, I won't be voting for her and I hope she doesn't win. [editline]7th July 2016[/editline] Leadsom seems to be completely incompetent and useless to me, I won't be voting for her and I hope she doesn't win.
Essentially Theresa is the only sane candidate to choose.
RIP everyone under 40's future
Pretty much a British Sarah Palin who voted against the gay marriage proposal. Essentially Theresa is the only sane candidate to choose.
Jesus fucking christ just burn the UK down.
I'd honestly prefer Leadsom over May any day of the fucking year. They're both awful, but I honestly see Leadsom as the lesser of two evils here. At least she doesn't have an agenda that will destroy the lives of those under 40 years old. ...oh who am I kidding the Tories are all fucking insane.
When can we get Corbyn in?
When can we get Corbyn in?
conservatives won the last GE because everyone who wasn't to the right of the political center voted for loads of different parties rather than a single opposition party. Greens, Lib Dems and fringe parties are becoming more and more irrelevant thanks to Corbyn's work in the Labour Party so there's hope yet, provided we can tank out the monsoon season of shit that is the next four years and people actually vote.
Leadsom looks dead behind the eyes, and seems like someone in charge of the "knutsford gardening club". Hope Theresa gets it.
Can we all agree that 2016 has been an absolute shit show of politics?
Leadsom isn't perfect (is any tory?), but she is miles better than May. May's campaign is already pulling down newspaper articles which paint her in a bad light, this is just a taste of what it would be like with her as PM.

Despite my area voting Labour since forever most people I talk to don't seem to have much confidence or know enough about him.
Andrea Leadsom is a smug and lying bitch, who is now famous for all the wrong reasons. Theresa May is a morally bankrupt and manipulative bitch. Either way we're screwed as both have pledged to fire off article 50.

Both will take us out of the EU, so why not have the one that has more experience with the EU, knows how it works and will get us a better deal.
So who is Leadsom exactly?
Supposedly a UKIP mouthpiece She also has sketchy credentials - she's bigged up or outright fabricated a lot of her career history before she became a politican.
This article pretty much ends the debate: Leadsom in 2012 called for all websites to be submitted and given a movie-style age rating by a censor board before being allowed to go online https://inews.co.uk/essentials/news/politics/andrea-leadsom-wanted-every-website-internet-go-censor/

I'd love to see her face after she gave ratings to the pain Olympics and looking at porn sites 8 hours a day for the rest of her career
Both Leadsom and May wish to impose strict censorship and monitoring upon internet communications... Neither is a good candidate.
Can't wait to see who our new Sith Lord will be.

In fact, she has very little experience in anything. She's never held a real job, and is clueless on almost everything she talks about. The fact that people would even consider her over May is astounding
To anyone living outside the UK, anything I say can not reiterate just how bad this situation is.
Blue/Green Eyes Thatcher or Brown Eyes Thatcher, sounds like you guys have a bright future.
Honestly, Thatcher comes across as reasonable compared to either of these people.
