Leaked prices by BestBuy/Amazon are $220 for the 16GB and $280 for the 32GB, leaked release date is supposedly Sept. 8th internationally

A great engadget video demonstration:

SEXY DO WANT
I want it now
I'll only get it if they up the space to at least 60 gigs. I listen to a lot of music.

Rumors they will do a 64GB version later on. Won't be cheap though if they do.
What song is playing in the video?
$280 for 32GB? Are you fucking kidding me?
That's pretty expensive (to me) for a 16GB. Looks cool otherwise.

What are you on about? The iPod Touch is $300 for 16gb, $220 is a fucking steal considering this uses the fabeled nVidia Tegra chip (25 days of battery life when listening to music on a laptop battery, 3D processing support), an OLED screen (with a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, and the only OLED TV on the market is an 11" one that costs $2,500), HD radio, HDTV support and HD quality video support up to 720p, etc...
Not to mention the 16GB is an SSD like all touch screen devices (which are basically extremely fast hard-drives that have virtually no failure rate, work with touch screens unlike HDD's and cannot get shock damage easily). Problem is SSD's/Flash-based stuff is hella expensive per gigabyte compaired to standard clunky harddrives because it's relatively new tech on the market.
This blows the touch out of the water, and yet supports tons of features the iTouch doesn't have, and YET STILL remains over $80 cheaper.
The only thing the touch has over this right now is Apps, but that's an obvious one considering the ipod touch has been out for a while so the app development community has had time to mature.
EDIT: Here's a nice quote about the OLED screen from the wiki article:
The radically different manufacturing process of OLEDs lends itself to many advantages over flat-panel displays made with LCD technology. Since OLEDs can be printed onto any suitable substrate using an inkjet printer or even screen printing technologies,[41] they can theoretically have a significantly lower cost than LCDs or plasma displays.[citation needed] Printing OLEDs onto flexible substrates opens the door to new applications such as roll-up displays and displays embedded in fabrics or clothing.
OLEDs enable a greater range of colors, gamut, brightness, contrast (both DR and static) and viewing angle than LCDs because OLED pixels directly emit light. OLED pixel colors appear correct and unshifted, even as the viewing angle approaches 90 degrees from normal. LCDs use a backlight and cannot show true black, while an off OLED element produces no light and consumes no power. Energy is also wasted in LCDs because they require polarizers that filter out about half of the light emitted by the backlight. Additionally, color filters in most color LCDs filter out two-thirds of the light; technology to separate backlight colors by diffraction has not been widely adopted.[citation needed]
OLEDs also have a faster response time than standard LCD screens. Whereas the fastest LCD displays currently have a 2ms response time (manufacturer's quote), an OLED can have less than 0.01ms response time.
I am going to buy this because my Zune 80 got borked ( my fault, I accidentally banged the shit out of it ), looks good though.

Yeah same... well I don't know if I will buy it because stuff like app support, audio quality, internet quality, and etc might suck and I want to know if they will be good before dropping cash down on this.
I'm thinking of just shipping my zune80 to rapid repair so they can salvage the parts for cash, or just get it repaired and sell on amazon/ebay.
I bet it'll be locked down tight to homebrew.

Alright first of all, just to let you know, I received an 8GB Ipod Touch as a present. I didn't buy it. I couldn't afford it.
What I am on about is that I am nearly moneyless, I am saying this is too expensive for me because I cannot afford it, obviously. I know the price is not going to get lowered any time soon, I am just saying how I feel about the price from my perspective, not from how other people (Who can afford this) think about it, and I'm not saying that it SHOULD be lowered. From how I read your post, it sounds to me that you're trying to convince me that the price is extremely cheap as it is. Yes, I know it's relatively cheap for something that is almost better (If not, better) than the Ipod Touch. Sure it has better features than what the Ipod Touch has, but that's not going to make me change my mind about how I cannot afford it. If I don't have enough money, I just don't have enough money. I won't be able to buy it. Not everyone will be able to afford something over $200. I know you're not forcing me to buy it, but it sounds like you're trying to prove me wrong on what I think about the price in my previous post. I don't want to sound like I'm making a big deal out of this, I'm just trying to clear things up, if they aren't cleared up already.

Oh man that was long.

Yeah my bad, personally I'm tight on cash myself. I guess I just read your post at first as something like that being way pricey for what it is.

It's alright.
I might actually save up for a 16GB.
Sexy interface, it's so damn smooth.
Should I get this or wait for a Zune phone?
The keyboard from the Engadget vid looks unpromising though. And apps/games details are scarce.
Damn, Can't wait to get one of these.
Still looks like a brick though :v:
i can't wait till microsoft makes a zune like phone. just this with a camera/contacts list/ability to call/ and i'm sold :>
I have no use to carry around a music player and a phone, gets annoying..
Does the ZuneHD support FLAC?

...it has a tegra? Fuck yeah! Finally XNA 3D Support for the Zune!
It looks better than the Touch. XNA on Zune would be epic. Could we be seeing a "Halo Classic" release or something. Really hoping.
The Zune is such a manly gadget.
If they actually sell this in the UK, I'll definitely think about picking one up.
Does the ZuneHD support FLAC?
Most likely not, but you can get a program hack that makes it so you can sync a shit load of file types through the zune program (only stuff like wma, mp3, wav, etc will play though so the program will convert everything on the zune, which ususally takes longer than doing it manually).
[editline]05:00PM[/editline]
Also there are rumors of XBL games on the zune, or ATLEAST XBL support.

More footage, now in HD!

I can't wait until everyone gets over this touchscreen phase.
It just makes it way too much of a hassle to use while walking/doing anything.
Im fine with my 120 gig
I have no idea what Zunes are, but I'm guessing that they are a manly touch-screen device which can play music and give you information about music and a fuckton of other things. Should I get this and not an iPhone?

Get the HTC Touch.
The storage is obviously solid state to cut down on weight and thickness, just like the iPhone. iPods actually have spinning hard drives inside so they're more bulky. Don't believe me? Just crack the case open.
If you want a zune but want size obviously you'd not get the ZuneHD and just get a more traditional zune80/120GB, which uses hard-drives (and still is a great device in of itself, plus apparently there are more firmware updates coming). The screen is still miles better than the Apple counterpart (traditional ipod video's etc).
that's pretty sweet, i'm looking for a new mp3 player too
