The DeLorean DMC is returning... as an electric car, much like the Tesla

Hello there, autofolk! This is my first time posting in this section. It's exciting! Anywho, I bring good news:

The only thing that makes me pissed is the price.

Considering this is my dream car, I may die in bliss.
Normally i think of Electric cars as the devil, however, I think it would fit the Delorean pretty well...I wouldn't mind one to cruise in on the weekends.
this is perfect
I wouldn't mind electric cars so much if the distance wasn't shit.

This.
Also, this sounds likes its going to be a repeat of the original version. Massive lack of power, ahoy!
More like "The DeLorean DMC is already available again... but eventually as an electric car, much like the Tesla". They've been making new DMC-12s for about a year now, at least. IIRC, they're around $57k new, and are using a much better frame construction nowadays.
You'd think they would change the overall design a little bit. It's definitely a blast from the past.

that is one reason it is so popular, people like the way cars used to look.
$90,000? but still

Cool concept, not so cool price.
For 90.000$ you can buy a 911 GT3, a Ferrari 360, a Gallardo, an Aston Martin Vantage, several Delta Integrale's, a superbly restored 68' Mustang, and the list goes on and on.
You can keep your aspirational eighties mobile.
I'd roll it as my everyday driver. Since I moved out of the countryside I only drive around 20 miles a day.
If it wasn't fot BTTF then I don't think the Delorian would be anywhere near as popular. From what I've read it's a pretty terrible car.

It was already fairly popular, but BTTF kicked it off in a big way. And Bradly is not wrong, they've fixed all the issues from the original DeLorean from the bad door hydraulics to the fast rotting trim, the frame also had a major overhaul. It's way more rigid now.
