sorry i couldn't resist making an HL3 pun
Ehh it's not that funny
Ehh it's not that funny
Well that's just, like, your opinion man. The pun wasn't really the highlight of this thread, rather it was the video. idk why people don't have even a light sense of humour, it's not like I made a holocaust joke or something similar. That's if you're talking about the pun and not the video. Bee and Puppycat is awesome.

the video was kinda unfunny too
Ehh, it's cute.
I thought the pilot episode was really on point, but I'm not too sure about this.
I'll reserve judgement for season 2, if it makes it that far
this sucks
the humour is too weird and the voice actors are annoying also the main character looks like a feminist
oh more cutesy art pandering also how ~random~
The crab made no sense, wasn't funny and was a little bit creepy. Kinda ruins the whole episode in my opinion.
main character looks like a feminist
did a feminist kill your parents or something, why does that matter :v:
It's got some awkward timing and is rough around the edges, but I like it. Maybe I'm just a bit diluted.
I'm a sucker for absurdity, and I really dig the whole show's aesthetic.
At worse it's a guilty pleasure for me. I really just love Bee and Puppycat as characters and it doesn't matter much to me to see them do random stuff. I think people find it a bit jarring since it's only half an episode? The rest of the episode is going to have all the fantastical world stuff.
They should have probably called it episode 2 part 1 and the last two episodes episode 1 part 1 and 2.
Yeah, I was super into the pilot and even backed the kickstarter, but I feel like they've totally lost their way here.
Like...why am I watching these episodes? It's just a weird girl who likes a guy and the entire premise of the show has shifted from 'A quirky but relatively down to earth and likeable girl meets a mysterious cat-dog from space and they go on adventures' to 'romcom that is the bad kind of awkward and occasionally the cat-dog does something funny'.
I dunno, I really want to like it but I just can't the way I liked the pilot episode. Either way, it's doing well enough that it's possible for it to have another season, but it'll probably be like VGHS and get less popular the longer it's around unless they change it up in a big way.

Imo, VGHS last season was actually a lot better than the rest, but I agree. This show took a rather undesirable shift.

Hopefully it's just Early Installment Weirdness and things will improve in later episodes?
Ack, we're like halfway through the season and almost nothing substantial has happened. This entire episode is like a giant lead up to something potentially interesting in the next.
uhm idk I think it's an alright small quirky-cute series, maybe I'm enjoying it because I'm not looking too deeply into it?
the background music makes me happy
Yeah, like, I'm still entertained enough. I'm just sad that they're not as good as the pilot, it's weird, I dunno.
Anyways, it's funny because I actually just came back to this thread to comment on how badly I wanted the OST for the show. The music has definitely not gotten worse.

Not trying to be dismissive or anything, but how does someone look like a feminist?

It's just a general theme. Not saying he's right, but a lot of light pastel colors are, for some reason, usually associated with feminism because feminists use those colors a lot in all sorts of things.
i really dont mind this it seems like a nice feelgood show to have on in the background
although i feel there should be like 100 episodes if it was going to be something like that which isn't a stretch considering how little content it has in it anyway
I like the plot but honestly I'm just as happy watching it because everything is adorable for the sake of being adorable at this point. I know it's not exactly what the pilot hinted at and I understand some people are disappointed but for the moment being I can enjoy it for what it is. I need my heavy dose of cute from time to time.
This looks like westerners tried really hard to make an anime

Whoa, nobody's heard that one before.
I can't shake the feeling that I'm watching an art student's final project, rather than a real developed show. Not that that's a bad thing, but it doesn't really draw me in like Adventure Time or Regular Show might do.
It's nice.
My issue with it is it seems aimless. Down to some of the jokes, the characters, et cetera. Especially in comparison to the pilot. It just looks like some guy took all of his random character sketches, cracked open Word and wrote up backgrounds for them all in 10 minutes, and now he's trying to make them work together in some moderately strange world.
Why did they step away from the content in the pilot so much? Did I miss something?

Something about the creator, Natasha Allegri, that felt like the pilot was far from her concepts. She was busy in something else.
In a interview, she mentioned that she took the wheel for the episodes, especially in the artistic departement. This is why Bee looks squashed and a lot chubbier. That's how she drew her in the inital sketches from what I recall. The animators of the pilot episode just took the sketches and polished them in their own way back then.
It's something along those lines.
Really good art style. That's where good things end.
