Great White Death of '11 - Life Threatening Conditions
144 replies, posted
Here in Wisconsin, we have heavy winds and insane amounts of snow. School was already closed for tomarrow, as announced today. From what I hear on the news and radio, there is plenty of this stuff all over the country.
Of course, the news has hyped it up and claims that the outside brings "Life Threatening Conditions", and advises not to go outside unless an emergancy. Too bad I had to wait outside for the bus, which ended up being ten minutes late. My friend and I got a ride with my dad while bringing my sister to school.
Post pictures and stories about this abundance of snow in this thread! I'll attempt to get some pictures up once I get my camera cable.

Gah, I always forget about the news section ever since it was moved to the bottom.
Well, someone can lock this thread, I guess.

Not yet, that's simply the current conditions. Tomarrow is supposed to be a giant snowstorm, and almost every school is closed in anticipation.
-31 Celsius still school for me
there's like 3 x the snow you have there in norway where I live and we consider that normal
Almost every state is covered in snow except Florida. That's good, right?
yeah fucking minnesota, we barely got a few inches while everyone stayed home woo!
Oh my god a foot of snow EVERYONE PANIC
Oh my god a foot of snow EVERYONE PANIC
To be fair, a lot of communities don't have the tools to deal with it.
I've even heard of some people dying because of infrastructure problems.

Meh, this is every day life here in Finland. You won't die because of it.
We did have snow a few days ago, but now it's fucking 50 outside. Windy as hell though.

actually dozens have died from it so far
People need to stop being, "WHY U SO SCARED?" and realize that this isn't normal conditions for many places here. I'm sure that if it were 90F in some places where it snows all the time, they'd be freaking out and calling it a heatocalypse. In the US, especially in the Southern areas, 90F is considered "kinda warm, I guess."
Usually it's about 80 degrees here, I was not built for 15 high and 7 low
School cancelled today, as roads were way too fuckin' icy. We got sleet all day, as well as some snow, about 4-6 inches or so. It's supposed to continue overnight again. Hopefully, and I don't wish to jinx it, though I'm not superstitious, we won't have school again tomorrow. :buddy:

This is going to fall on top of a pre-existing 2 feet of snow in Boston.
By the end of this I could probably jump off of the roof into it.
