CHICAGO (AP) -- Famed Chicago movie critic Roger Ebert has been hospitalized with a hip fracture.
His wife, Chaz Ebert, told The Associated Press on Thursday that her husband was doing much better and "doctors are making assessments" about when he could leave the hospital.
She posted on Twitter earlier in the day that her Pulitzer Prize-winning husband was doing well and "asking for computer, will probably tweet."
Roger Ebert is a prolific Twitter user and last posted Tuesday afternoon.
In her tweet, Chaz Ebert jokingly attributed the fracture to "tricky disco dance moves."
The 70-year-old Chicago Sun-Times film critic has had health problems over the last several years. He has battled cancer in his thyroid and salivary glands and lost his ability to speak and eat after cancer surgeries.

70 years old, no wonder he had a hip fracture while dancing.
Poor guy, when you're that age any kind of pelvic or hip problem can actually lead to death, via various complications from going immobile.
This sucks and all..
But, is being a film-critic important enough to warrant sensational news?
If it does warrant sensational news, then please explain to me why (so I can appreciate it)?

what's wrong with his jaw?
In her tweet, Chaz Ebert jokingly attributed the fracture to "tricky disco dance moves."
Unlikely scenario joke, 1/4 stars.
As soon as I saw film critic, I knew it was either going to be Roger Ebert or Mark Kermode, and no-one outside of England knows who the fuck Mark Kermode is.
I've had a tiny fracture on my hip before, it is the worst pain you can imagine, especially with a hip-pointer injury

lost his ability to speak after cancer and surgery. read the article bro
Wow, I had no idea that he looks the way he does.
I still remember him as his old self.
Hope he gets better soon. Last thing he needs is more health problems. :/
Wow, he's 70. I love Roger Ebert, even if I disagree with some of his conservatism when it comes to reviewing certain movies.

Lol that picture was taken before the jaw cancer
Jeez, I never knew Ebert went through so much. Losing his ability to talk from his cancer treatments. I had no idea.
Seems like the fact that it's Roger Ebert should have been in the title though.
