Earlier this year, there was talk of a “Captain Worf” Star Trek project you were developing and hoping to pitch. What’s the status of that? Dorn: I had come up with the idea because I love the character and I think he’s a character that hasn’t been fully developed and hasn’t been fully realized. Once I started thinking about it, it became obvious to me that I wanted to at least put it out there, which I have, and the response has been pretty amazing. We’ve been contacted by different individuals–I can’t say who and all that–about wanting to come on board and be part of this. Also, there’s all the political stuff going on with the new movies, with J.J. Abrams and Paramount and all that stuff, which I have no clue about and what it all entails, but that’s where it is right now. Interestingly enough it has gotten traction. I was very surprised, I was on a movie not too long ago, where one of the producers was basically lobbying to be part of it. He was like “Michael, I’d love to write it, if you haven’t.” So at this point, my agents and my manager are looking at all the avenues and trying to figure out which is the best one. My agent and manager have been in the business for awhile, so they’re very savvy about where to start and how to get it going. Like I said, in this business you never know and I’ve been through pitching things and I never want to do that again [laughs]. It’s pretty brutal, but definitely I think once again, if Paramount or CBS or anybody thinks this is a viable thing, they’ll jump on it.
There is a lot more from Michael Dorn at the source. This definitely sounds like something I'd watch. Worf is probably the single most well-developed character in Star Trek, and if they want to keep Star Trek Online canon, it would be one hell of a story. [sp]Worf defects from the Federation to join the Klingon Empire when war breaks out between the two, fighting pretty much everyone he ever loved except for his son, who enlisted in the KDF towards the end of Deep Space 9.[/sp] But then again, if they decided to screw over STO, I wouldn't bat an eyelash. What I put in the spoilers is pretty much the only good plot point in the whole game.
Perhaps today IS a good day to die.
I would watch it. Even as a 15 minute internet web show series thingy.
Worf foctor noine. Aye aye copton Kork.
PARAMOUNT DO IT DAMNIT
if the spoiler tag is true I'de rather have [sp]a starfleet ship and it's crew be the hope in maintaining piece. not that a klingon series wouldn't be bad, just that I've seen so much focus upon war in making sacrifices and grey areas in morality that I want to watch a series that would give be better aspirations to the future which fight the darkness.[/sp] Still I miss star trek and I want it back regardless

I hope it has PRUNE JUICE
Dorn said something about "Captain Worf, in command of a Federation starship, chasing terrorists"
TrekMovie.com: So in your panel you mentioned the idea of pitching the a lower budget Star Trek movie with Worf? Is that serious? Michael Dorn: I am serious. I think there is a place for it. Straight to DVD or straight to cable. Who wouldn’t want to have this kind of thing going on? It is going to help their movie. The fans aren’t going "we are going to see this movie, but we aren’t going to go see the big movie in the theater." TrekMovie.com: Do you have a writer lined up? Michael Dorn: I think I am going to write it. TrekMovie.com: So where do you see Worf now? Michael Dorn: He is captain of a ship – a Federation ship. He is out there in the front lines basically chasing terrorists. TrekMovie.com: So you want to make it edgier? Darker? Michael Dorn: Totally, totally. I think we will have some of our Star Trek people in it, but mostly new characters. It will be interwoven into the fabric of Star Trek. And also what we going through right now? TrekMovie.com: When do you think you are going to have your first meeting at CBS? Michael Dorn: I have couple meetings I want to do before that. First with Rick Berman, who produced all of our shows, just to see what he thinks. Then my manager. And I know people at SyFy. And I’ll just start gathering information. If anything happens it is going to be next year because I have a bunch of stuff to do this year. I have already started writing the script and excuse my language, but it f—ing great."
http://trekmovie.com/2012/05/26/exclusive-michael-dorn-on-almost-part-in-star-trek-sequel-plans-to-pitch-worf-tv-movie-more/

Even though you had section 5 come out that did questionable things there is a point where Dr. bashier is told "we need more people like you in startrek instead of us". But I do not want to whitewash the reality that ds9 presented rather deal with a harsh world and overcome it, for example, "what would picard have done in the events of DS9". I can see Worf's story being told in the same way sort of where he becomes a key factor into rebuilding the klingon empire beyond it where at the end strives for peace and harmony then just honor in battle.
Damn it, I want a new TV series. Something like Deep Space 9.
Sounds awesome. Would watch the shit out of it but can't help but think Star Trek fans will just be madder the theme of the search for Peace in the galaxy is thrown out the window when it's about a member of a violent race flying around in his ship on the "frontlines catching terrorists". Still would watch it till my eyes fall out.
Worf defecting to the Klingon Empire during a war with the Federation? Yeah, just wouldn't view that as something that Worf would do after having served the Federation for over a decade. I'd probably give this a shot though, since it's Star Trek.

Since SFC3 posted what he did, it looks more like he wants to continue the Maquis thing.

Eh, as much as I love Star Trek, I think they'll probably just screw it up if they try and bring it back.
i seriously doubt paramount is going to go for this
A whole series based around the character who's sole purpose is to get his arse handed to him by the monster of the week to establish it as a credible threat? K But nah I'd watch even that, I'm such an unashamed fanboy of TNG era trek I think I wouldn't be able to stop cumming [editline]4th September 2012[/editline]
That quote about it being darker and edgier makes me think they're just gonna pull another Stargate: Universe.
That quote about it being darker and edgier makes me think they're just gonna pull another Stargate: Universe.
And there was nothing wrong with that.
And there was nothing wrong with that.
It's OK until all the characters become a bunch of shallow bitchy teenage girls to each other over situations that they should be working together. Compared to SG1 and Atlantis, Universe's characters were 1 dimensional for a lot of the time and didn't have much personality outside of their "role". I've only seen the first season so I don't know if it gets better in that area. anyway back to Star Trek, I think the next Star Trek should involve the Federation exploring outside of the galaxy, towards other galaxies and see lifeforms that an't just actors with chin putty on their heads.
Just get the TNG cast back together and fuck everything else.
We really need a new Star Trek. :/
I'd love to see continuation of Star Trek, with characters we already know and love. A Seth Macfarlane may be cool to, have to see an pilot. Oh well, guess there's Star Trek 2013 to look forward to for now. And the continuation of TNG Blu ray when it releases.
STO basic storyline is fine, but the ingame missions are pretty "hwat" in nature. My favorite mission is on the KDF, "Alpha". Amazing.
And not that JJ Abrams shitfest.
Why am I only hearing about this now?
