As long as every "episode" isn't just different modeled slendy chasing you around a different map and they actually build on the experience even more, I could definitely get behind this. I want it to take off in popularity at the very least, because I really want to see more projects like this pop up, with a game being massively influenced or even played by the audience to challenge the streamer.
Although I do agree with the above post that rogue-like elements would make this far better. Imagine something like dreadhalls where it procedurally generates a dungeon maze, and the audience has to vote on things like what the rooms consist of, where the exit is/where the streamer spawns, what will be chasing the streamer and where it spawns. There's so many possibilities. But in all fairness, it's easy to come up with ideas, implementing them especially without a budget is another beast altogether; this isn't a bad starting point for them by any means imo.
Edit: How is this optimistic? I said I wanted it to turn out like that, not that I think it will.
meh just looks like an generic indie horror game ripping of ideas from other games and movies.

Except the part where it's not, which is the entire point of the game? Did you even watch the video?
it feels like a slender style horror game might be too limited for something like this. I think a roguelite would probably be the best genre to test audience interaction in, because those games already have a lot of variables.
Probably true but from the point of view of a new indie dev who is just finishing their game development course, it's probably better to start with something simple for an experiment like this. If and when the interaction thing proves popular, then he can try it with a more complex game.

yeah the creatures stop when you look at them, ripped from scp containment breach.
yeah the creatures stop when you look at them, ripped from scp containment breach.
Containment Breach didn't come up with that concept.
yeah the creatures stop when you look at them, ripped from scp containment breach.
Again, did you even watch the video or pay attention to any part of what the game is?
Containment Breach didn't come up with that concept.
hehe i do not know who brung up that concept :D

yeah i did see they being chased by some creature when you look at it, it freezes.

:D
yeah i did see they being chased by some creature when you look at it, it freezes.
Okay so obviously you paid zero attention to any of it since the whole point of the game is the audience interaction which is the part that makes it not just another first person horror thing.

then it's a new original idea then.

looks pretty fun nonetheless
[editline]27th September 2016[/editline]

How the hell did you manage to watch the whole video and not notice the MAIN THING THE VIDEO IS ABOUT?

According to the kickstarter he's already made $16,000. Not bad.
Slender style games are very meh, in my opinion. But if they have different variations with different monsters or threats then I could see some potential here. If it's just slender interactive edition though, I'll pass. That game already bores me as it is.
I'm proud of him. Dude is trying to make his dreams come true. As long as he puts passion into this I think it'll turn out fine.
The game's not really my thing (like others I wish it was more like his Criken Coliseum stuff) but I'll still support him in this. You can tell he's very passionate about the idea.

the game is more for gamers that stream their games.

imagine me having a stream of this game, and 0 viewers. what.

Well those of us that have friends will be having fun.
It's funded, apparently.
With over a month left to go, I wonder how he'll use all that extra money.
like I was assuming with his reveal vid, the fucking twitch meme injection shit is killing me. Why would you add kappa and the other faces into the game? also I don't think the player should be privvy to seeing the vote options/progress or the who-activated-what-function notification. Just leave them to their devices completely unaware of what's going on
I hope he's using the Slender-like gameplay as a sort of proof of concept for future gamemodes. Games like that usually don't have much lasting power, gimmicks or no.
yeah the creatures stop when you look at them, ripped from scp containment breach.
funny because that game wasn't the one that thought of that
Interesting idea that has potential, but the demo'd game was very unimpressive.
Congrats on Criken for making a game but it doesn't look enticing to either play or watch. Twitch interactions are limited to basic stuff and since the entire game's gimmick is that, I have a bad feeling about it.
also I don't think the player should be privvy to seeing the vote options/progress or the who-activated-what-function notification. Just leave them to their devices completely unaware of what's going on
Couldn't agree more. It would make for some fun "awww fuck what did you guys do" moments.
This sounds like a ton of fun.
I didn't like the 'drunk' mode, though. Seems like it would just mess with people trying to watch the stream, instead of the guy playing it.
There's a test stream live: https://streamote.tv/criken
i'd like it if there was a no stream option for a group of like 5 friends, like basically a glorified zombie master so you don't have to use twitch and it's delays.
