• The Glass on my Gas Stove Just Shattered

So me and my dad were just sitting there in the living room and relaxing and shit. Then all of a sudden this loud crackle rings through the kitchen. I get up and quickly have a look, but I didn't notice anything at glance. Then a quieter crackle continuosly goes on and on, as I search the kitchen for a broken vase or maybe a plate that fell down. Then I notice that the "Glass" (Not the thing on the oven-door, the thing that you're supposed to open & close to cover it) on our stove broke. Out of nowhere, too. I can't really think of any possible cause. Now here's where it gets really interesting. The shattered pieces of glass seems to keep on crackling, and sounds almost like sparks. I get closer and have a look, and I can see the tiny fragments of glass dividing (wtf) I'm trying to get a pic but my phone's Bluetooth is acting up. I'm not really sure what happened. The stove was off, and noone was in the kitchen. I'm kind of freaked out here. Does anybody have any explanation?
Upgrade to an electric stove? once i came downstairs and somehow my cat stacked his food and water bowl on top of each other neatly
put your face really close to the glass face first and you can hear the tiny glass people rebelling against the communist gases

A light bulb broke inside my oven once. My dad tried to get it out, but ended up cutting his hand and electrocuting himself. I lol'd.
once my cat burned his paw on the stove, fell off the counter, and his burnt paw landed right in the water dish
It shattered because of sudden temperature changes. It must of been really hot and it touched something really cold. Was a thread really needed over this?
^Heat expansion and compression, I believe you have a point.
I get closer and have a look, and I can see the tiny fragments of glass dividing (wtf)
You have sharp vision.
A light bulb broke inside my oven once. My dad tried to get it out, but ended up cutting his hand and electrocuting himself.
It shattered because of sudden temperature changes. It must of been really hot and it touched something really cold. Was a thread really needed over this?
'cause the stove was clearly hot being off and all
'cause the stove was clearly hot being off and all
the land of Gassia was under a heat wave, so in the midst of the heat the Glassmen rebelled against the communist Gasmen
It shattered because of sudden temperature changes. It must of been really hot and it touched something really cold. Was a thread really needed over this?
I highly doubt it. The kitchen is room temperature and the stove isn't even on.
You have sharp vision.
It's not THAT tiny. Maybe around half the size of your pinky's fingernail.
Maybe it was just tension in the glass caused by all the times the oven was hot and cooled down again. And then it just broke out of the sudden.
This reminds me of one time, my mom was in the kitchen, and suddenly the heating element on our electric stove exploded. The pot on top had a hole in the bottom, and my mom said that flames were shooting like a jet a few feet into the air for a few seconds. There was also a loud buzzing. We replaced the element, and it works fine now. Glass is an odd thing. Scientists disagree on a few things about it. It sounds like there was a rapid temperature change, but it could also be something undocumented be science.
Pressure?
Yeah maybe my fatass neighbor farted and the high-pressure shockwave travelled through the vents.
Stove glass constantly cracking? Unexplainable sounds in your kitchen? Bluetooth fucking up? Shit, Russia's testing another superweapon! To the facepunch bunkers!
Stove glass constantly cracking? Unexplainable sounds in your kitchen? Bluetooth fucking up? Shit, Russia's testing another superweapon! To the facepunch bunkers!
They were removed on January 8. :argh:

Shit thread.
They were removed on January 8. :argh:
Well then, go to 4chan and steal theirs!
Your glass is infected with nano-bots. You must burn it while dancing around saying "OOGA BOOGA".
No.
Glass is an odd thing.
I can't wait until a year 7 student see's that and comes prancing in and says something like "HAHA YOU ARE RIGHT IT'S ACTUALLY A LIQUID DID YOU KNOW THAT I BET YOU DIDN'T"
Spah sappin mah oven!
Well then, go to 4chan and steal theirs!
Stealing from SomethingAwful is better.
Snap crackle and pop. :smug:
http://www.wpxi.com/money/9537544/detail.html This might be relevent. Apparently there's a huge flaw in a type of glass that's made in a certain way where a microscopic imperfection in the glass (eg an air bubble the size of a pinhead) can throw the pressure of the glass off and cause it to randomly explode. This has been seen in everything from glass patio tables to glass shower doors.
