After temperatures consistently hovered above 40 degrees in Melbourne since Tuesday, tournament referee Wayne McKewen opted to enforce the extreme heat rule on Thursday. The ruling means current matches being played will be suspended at the conclusion of the set and no scheduled matches on outside courts will start until conditions improve. Maria Sharapova said she felt close to fainting during her second-round singles match-up against Italy's Karin Knapp, which the Russian won in a gruelling 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 encounter.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-16/heat-policy-in-effect-at-australian-open/5203430
Pssh, amateurs. Through sheer dint, I can stand barefoot on hot gravel in the midday sun at 40 plus degrees and not give a fuck about the heat. :v:
Most of them are Europeans so I think we can forgive them
People still faint out here at barely 30-35, though - as far as the majority are concerned, I'm an oddity with rF++ where they've got none.
I thought they said they weren't going to halt it a few days ago, when it was actually hotter than 40c

I can stand 32 to 35 degrees celsius but 40c is too much.
I can stand 32 to 35 degrees celsius but 40c is too much.
44c is melting me.
use Fahrenheit you foreign bastards
Celsius is a much better scale. Metric system is a much better system too.
use Fahrenheit you foreign bastards
Only if you use the Metric system. Besides, don't most countries besides America use Celcius?
What are you on about, this forum is British
I wouldn't say its anything, there is people from every corner of the globe on this forum.

I live in the south where everything just fucking boils in summer and I still can't stand the heat. Then again during winter it just never stops raining and temperature randomly goes from 5°c to 20°c in the same fucking day so it's hard to adapt.
Yeah, it was 46 a 2 hours ago, and the rest of the week is going to be 40's or late 30's. To think it was only 20 a few days ago, Melbourne weather....
it was a joke
imagine how fucking hot those chairs are you sit on them and you instantly get set on fire

This weather fucking sucks, and best of all the power keeps going out around this area. so no fans or AC when it goes out, yay.

this heatwave needs to learn to fuck off
this heatwave need to learn to fuck off
News flash: It happens every year; get use to it.
News flash: It happens every year; get use to it.
I don't see how we can get used to 40 degrees weather when Australian weather is so bipolar
Finally I get to use this
What are you talking about you can use that in the Rust forum on just about every thread.
Every time there's a heatwave here, I find I just adapt too it. The first day is shit, and the nights sleep, but after that you just get used to being sweaty and have fuck all energy. Yesterday was probably the worst I've felt after helping two people move 2 houses worth of their furniture.
News flash: It happens every year; get use to it.
It's hard to get used to it when the weather in melbourne is under 20 for like, the rest of the year
