More Australians want Labor's more expensive, faster NBN plan
A MAJORITY of Australians prefer Labor's faster and more expensive National Broadband Network to the Coalition's cheaper and slower alternative.
And it's not just young people wanting faster downloads for games and videos, according to polling by Auspoll conducted last Friday.
Australians aged 55 to 64 have emerged as the strongest supporters of Labor's broadband plan, with 60 per cent preferring it over the Coalition's plan.
And rightfully so, Abbot has a very stupid idea of what he want it to be.

Good. The coalition's plans are a joke.
Does the government provide internet service in Australia?
Does the government provide internet service in Australia?
No. But there's going to be a new network built by NBN Co. which is owned by the government. It'll use fibre optic cabling instead of copper.
Does the government provide internet service in Australia?
Telstra used to be owned by the government, but now they aren't, it has just gone and fucked up every other ISPs, as well as most of Australia's internet speeds.
Clearly, that's was one of the down falls of the last election for the coalition.
Telstra used to be owned by the government, but now they aren't, it has just gone and fucked up every other ISPs, as well as most of Australia's internet speeds.
Telstra still owns a vast majority of the infrastructure, so most ISP's and other telecommunication service providers rent off Telstra.
Labor are still shitcunts though but If I had to choose I'd probably choose Labor because of their NBN stance.
Are we really going to feel the pinch of a more expensive NBN as regular citizens? I don't think so.
My anus would feel a pinch and pucker if Abbot got into power though.

I would probably cry.
The Liberal party's Internet plan is just retarded. A node here some copper there, why not just use shortwave radio, semaphore towers and carrier pigeons.
shortwave radio, semaphore towers and carrier pigeons.
Fuck man, you really expect Australia to be that advanced?
The Liberal party's Internet plan is just retarded. A node here some copper there, why not just use shortwave radio, semaphore towers and carrier pigeons.
Because a carrier pigeon would probably at least try to make an effort to communicate your message in a timely fashion.
Though I want the NBN, the questions in the poll seem to me to be slightly skewed to favour Labour's plan.

Sadly I think you'll be crying in a few months time.

I'm going to stop this by voting Australian Sex Party. Wait-

I actually worked it out, if you strapped a package full of microSD cards to a carrier pidgeon, flying from Brisbane to Sydney, it was about 6x faster than the average internet speed
The development of NBN has exploded lately. An attempt to get so much done that they can't cancel it I guess?

They should explain the NBN with this quote.
Okay just redid the maths quickly, probably wrong as shit :v:
Assuming a 32gb microsd is 0.5g, and a pigeon can carry 75g, they can carry 4800GB of cards
Flying 730km from Brisbane to Sydney at an average of 80km/h, they'll arrive in 9.125h
4800gb in 9.125h is 149.63MB/s, the average internet speed in Australia is 0.53MB/s
Pigeons are 282x faster than the internet here :v:

Nope, According to the SMH its 4.3MB/s

That has to be wrong.
That has to be wrong.
Not really, I live out on the Mountains on the Gold Coast, I've got 20MB/s so i can believe 4.3MB/s

That's bullshit, I'll max out at 0.6MB/s at absolute prime times. 2AM with nobody else in the house.

This is amazing haha
It is very important to note that the only reason we are getting a coalition policy this good (I emphasise good because compared to what it was going to the 2010 election this is Eldorado) is because of Malcolm Turnbull. He's an utter genius. He deserves Prime Minister more than almost anyone in parliament.
If ever he becomes the leader of the Liberal Party I really can't see Labour winning an election for quite a long time. He's only 58, he could definitely be PM for another 12 years.
if i was old enough to vote i'd be going for labour, i dont want to see us get left behind in the dust with the coalitions nbn plan

4.3Mb/s, not 4.3MB/s. Big big difference. 4.3Mb/s is pretty average for modern requirement.

Pity he is very unpopular with the dominant faction of the coalition and got forced out
I would have voted for him
Pity he is very unpopular with the dominant faction of the coalition and got forced out

Dominant factions are the reason most of our problems exist. The dominant factions are generally made up of old hacks and party stalwarts who don't deserve it but get it because they're in the upper echelons of the party. Julia Gillard caved to pressure for same sex marriage, Malcolm lost to Tony because of factions, Kevin was deposed because of factions, climate change isn't taken seriously by the coalition because of factions, Wayne Swan is treasurer because of factions, Julie Bishop is a white supremacist shadow foreign minister because of factions.
Old people. They are the source of all problems.
