The kinect is great for what it is, even if it can't pull off scans like that. Too bad they discontinued it [I]just[/I] as decided to borrow an original 360 kinect to try mocap with it and decide if it would be worth buying two 2.0 kinects in the future. Now you can only get them used and the pc compatible cable is nowhere to be found. :saddowns:

the 360 kinect is pretty easy to mod for pc use if you don't mind chopping off the original connector, i worked on one a couple years ago. if i recall there's basically 4 pins for usb and an extra connection for a 12v power supply.
the software side is kinda crappy though.
