Do your parents know? How did they find out and how do they deal with it? (or not) - General

This is something that I'm sure a lot of people struggle with, my self included. Basically.. Do your parents know you do <insert whatever it is you probably shouldn't do here>. Did you confront them or them you? Do they approve, disapprove or have no opinion? Do your parents actually let you live your life and respect your decisions? :p Have either of your parents done drugs or do the still frequently use them? Me personally, they're only cool with drinking and when I'm 18 they'll have to deal with me smoking but until then (1.5 months woo!) I'm not saying a word about the fact that I smoke (cigarettes). I do however intend to experiment with other drugs that I'll keep from them unless I'm caught red handed, then I'll deal with the shit storm however it goes. My parents don't know. But if they did, i'd reckon my dad wouldn't mind that much (since he smokes tobacco, but my mum doesnt know about it); but he'd advise me to stop. My mum would go off her face and probably try to kick me out.

My Mon is fine with it, and my step-dad is neutral. I don't think he cares anyways as my Mom smokes too.

Both my parents were potheads. My dad used to smoke with my brother just about everyday. I wish I wasn't too young to join them when he was still around. My mom still is a pothead and i've smoked with her a couple of times. She's a real lightweight though so she usually ends up dragging the joint a couple times and just giving me the thing.

My Mom knows I smoke weed, she lets me do it but she doesn't like the fact that I do. I just told her one day when she walked in my room and I was bored so I decided to tell her.

I think they'd deport me from Canada if they knew I was smoking cigarettes, weed or taking E. If they find out when I'm back in the UK, I'm fucked too, especially as I really would like to continue taking E and weed. Attempting to quit cigarettes.

My parents are divorced, my dad said he will smoke with me when I turn 18 but he's cool with me smoking but my mom on there other hand would kill me if she found out.

My parents found out tonight. My mom said my consequences will happen when I'm caught, since I'm 18. My dad was going to kick me out of the house. Just can't use my car for a while, until it blows over I think.

Mom doesn't care, she used to smoke weed herself and still does once in a while. Dad? Dunno never told him and I think it would be better if he didn't just to save the drama. Plus he's had marijuana in his life time.

both my parents tried it, I don't think they became regulars. If they found out I smoked now, they'd probably be a little mad that I was lying to them, but they probably wouldn't care as long as I did good in school and such

I invited my parents to my mate's new year's party, and despite being by far the oldest people there they just got wired and had a great time. Also they congratulated me on taking a hefty cocktail of drugs at my birthday party and not going down. In my dad's words "taking acid and E at a big party like this is a right of passage". Basically I'm one of the lucky ones.

Both parents know I smoke. Mom is totally fine with it, but dad is a bit edgy. As long as I don't ruin my life pretty much.

Dad thinks all pot smokers steal an shit (typical crackhead image) Mum, "see what drugs have done to you huh police??"

Just to add to my parents.. I think if they saw me do well in college and pass my courses (which I am doing) they would also probably be more reasonable about it.. They're always about "getting an education and a job and being responsible" but if I can do both and prove it they'd lighten up.
