Fuck off. That... really is all I have to say. Fuck off, and eat a bag of dicks.
Got banned from Steam? ALL your games are now unplayable, and Valve says you can't still sell/trade them in
Got banned from Steam? ALL your games are now unplayable, and Valve says you can't still sell/trade them in
In Valve's defense, it's much harder to be banned on Steam then on Xbox.

Good thing I don't invest a lot of money in Steam.

It's almost impossible to get banned from Steam, unless you actually deserve it. So unless you're a proper cunt then you have nothing to worry about

To be fair, I've never heard of anyone being banned in my life (unless they're total dicks), and I was vac banned (like, a life time ago, I was a careless prick just messing around) but I found it justifiable. But you know what, I'm still happy with steam, even getting another account for just VALVE games.
That and it's pure digital distribution. I mean, yeah, thats shitty, but, it's not easy being banned from steam.

and even with only Vac bans being counted, I've found vac to be the best protection for servers, ever.

I'm Vac'd and I still play

How many people actually get permabanned from steam though? You'll have community abilities like chat, trading and others taken away for scamming and things like that, not permabanned. As far as I know, the only way to get permabanned is to try to cheat the system to get money, like doing a random chargeback on a purchase.
How do you get banned from Live?
I'm Vac'd and I still play
there's a difference between vac'd and banned from steam.
How do you get banned from Live?
I got banned for having the word "jizz" in my bio.
They get really anal about little things.
what can i say
Don't Buy Xbox One, it was collaborated with EA and other capitalists thieves
there's absolutely nothing wrong with this. If you're a dumbass and do something stupid to get banned, you probably deserved to get your rights revoked.
Got banned from Steam? ALL your games are now unplayable, and Valve says you can't still sell/trade them in
That's only if you do some serious shit and get your account disabled. Valve doesn't care if you insult someone over the internet (or at-least, they don't care enough to disable your account). You have to do some pretty dodgy stuff. For the majority of people who could actually get themselves banned or the like, they'd still have access to the offline portions of their games.
On Xbox Live you can get banned if you send someone a mean message and they report it.

Then you gotta be doing something really awful then.

AKA: Deserving getting permabanned from Steam
Got banned from Steam? ALL your games are now unplayable, and Valve says you can't still sell/trade them in
As it was said, you almost can't get truly banned from Steam, even if they restrict your account for doing shady shit, such as using a stolen credit card, they don't remove your ability to play your games. I do deeply hate VAC though, permanently and irrevocably removes your ability to play MP on VAC enabled servers, without warning, and across all games on that particular game engine, IE get VAC banned from HL2:DM, can't play MP on VAC servers on CSS, CSGO, L4D, L4D2, etc. Not sure if it's still like that, and there's lots of times with false positives, like with the CoD:MW2 incident.
This is really comes down to what Live will ban people for.

Banning people for that will cause problems. They should only ban for extreme circumstances like Steam does. Hacking or chargebacks for example.
Then you gotta be doing something really awful then.
Don't they ban you if someone gifts you a game then they file a chargeback
there's absolutely nothing wrong with this. If you're a dumbass and do something stupid to get banned, you probably deserved to get your rights revoked.
No, there is everything wrong with this. My physical games become worthless if I get banned from xbox live, and they appear to be pretty trigger happy with the permabans.
If this actually happens to anyone MS is going to get sued, hard.
I've always wondered, how do you get VAC banned?
How is Microsoft even relevant at this point.
They've gone above and beyond from shooting themselves in the foot. They've unloaded an entire mag into both their feet, reloaded, unloaded another mag into their abdomen and blew off one of their knee caps for good measure. Pretty soon that gun is going to be raised to their head.
Not really sure why you would think this is a bad thing, aren't bans only given out to cheaters and frauds?

Microsoft bans for really stupid shit sometimes.
They've perma'd people before because they played a legal copy of one of the Halo games before release.

I remember hearing about an Xbox Live admin (now demoted) who was a poor sport and banned people in his game claiming they were "hacking" and also banned people for "harassing" him.
How do you get banned from Live?
Have a loose DVD drive and not call Xbox support at the first sign. I got banned due to "piracy" because of that.
Don't they ban you if someone gifts you a game then they file a chargeback
Yeah I heard of this, but you can just get the account back via steam support anyway.
This is the straw that breaks the camels back for me.
Un-fucking-believable; so much for chattel.
It's almost impossible to get banned from Steam, unless you actually deserve it. So unless you're a proper cunt then you have nothing to worry about
They have specific bans for people who could be committing fraud, etc.
These bans limit your buying ability but you can still play your games. VAC bans allow you to buy and play games but not on VAC servers.
Note: Do not get XBox One.
