Trump: 'We need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama'
President Trump on Monday offered his most explicit endorsement to date of Roy Moore, the embattled Republican Senate candidate in Alabama who stands accused of making unwanted sexual advances on teenage girls when he was in his 30s.
“We need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama,” Trump declared in an early morning tweet, leaving no question that he was supporting a Senate nominee that many other Republican leaders have repudiated and called upon to quit the race.

Trump has delivered similar messages in recent days, attacking Democratic nominee Doug Jones as a liberal beholden to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.).
But in his past comments Trump has stopped short of naming Moore and unequivocally endorsing him in the special election, to be held Dec. 12.
Real classy, Mr. President.
I can hardly wait for 2018's midterm campaign ads reminding everyone that the Republican party's current leader and the President of the United States endorses pedophilia.
Ah yes, we need a child molester's vote on stopping crime.
Alabama, please show us that you aren't the cousinfucking retards the rest of the world thinks you are.

I really hope that the Democrats don't yet again play the "we're not the other guy" campaign.
"We need a real American! Roy Moore may be a pedophile and sexual predator, but at least he's no dirty democrap who wants more crime and abortions!!!"
Also, isn't there some kind of implications with the President of the United States trying to convince voters to vote for a certain candidate? I do not remember Obama trying this hard to get someone in?
Guess the name of the movie
[Moore's] vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall
It's Alien vs. Predator
I really hope that the Democrats don't yet again play the "we're not the other guy" campaign.
No, but it'd also be a terrible shame to avoid using a powerful weapon Trump has basically handed Democrats. The key is for their campaigning to focus on why they're better - but they can still point out why their opponents are worse.
So literally the 'better a paedophile than a liberal' argument?
Imagine struggling to decide between a pedophile and a Democrat.
Really, my question in this whole Roy Moore debacle is why the republicans can't just fuckin' disown him, throw him out and put some other guy up for election instead? It's fuckin' Alabama, there's a good chance you could win by just dragging some random dude off the street and slapping his name on the ballot, as long as there's an (R) next to it.
Not a single Democrat voted for the tax "cuts," because they raise taxes on the 40% of the country that can least afford to have their taxes raised, extends massive cuts and new deductions to those who need them the least, and guts the Affordable Care Act, which will almost certainly result in dramatic increases to the cost of healthcare for the lower and middle class. This bill was a horrible fucking deal to everybody other than the rich.
So, yeah, I think I'll stick with the Democrats for now -- especially if your idea of preferable leadership is a child molester.
At this point even the general FP Poster is held to higher standards then the president (only the republican side, though) which is really saying something if a gaming forum has a better moral code then the highest office in the USA.
A rotting corpse would be more appropriate for election at this point.

You realize saying "vote for me I'm not the other party" is literally what Trump is advocating here in this article, right?
A rotting corpse would be more appropriate for election at this point.
I'd vote for it, but only if it can winnow the Warp and guide a galaxy-spanning Imperium with an indomitable psychic will.
You realize saying "vote for me I'm not the other party" is literally what Trump is advocating here in this article, right?
That's exactly what I'm saying. Hillary lost because she spent too much time saying "At least I'm not Trump" instead of saying "Here are all the things I can do to make American's lives better."
If the Democrats learn from that and focus on their platform in their campaigns, then they could still potentially use Trump's endorsement of Moore to devastating effect.
Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama.
Then maybe write up a bill that's appealing to at least a single Democrat??
Really, my question in this whole Roy Moore debacle is why the republicans can't just fuckin' disown him, throw him out and put some other guy up for election instead? Even if Roy Moore stepped aside (Which he wouldn't do since he hates the Republican leadership), they're well past the deadline that ballots can be changed. At most, they could do a write-in campaign and tell everyone to vote for Republican x, but Roy Moore's name will still have to be listed as the Republican candidate on the ballot, no matter what they do.

The man's a transparent would-be dictator in case you haven't noticed.

No see dems in trumps mind should support the gop even as they consistantly punch them in the face.
If TV ads have any say in who will win in this race, then my money is on Doug Jones. He's outspending Moore 10-1 right now on television. Some of the ads are really good, too:

except in this situation, the tagline is "If the Predator wins, we lose."

They're great adverts - a far cry from some of the more crazy ones you Americans have. In Britain, political ads on TV are banned, and I personally agree with that, on balance, but this crazy situation in Alabama, something that would never happen in Britain, shows how political ads are sometimes necessary.

I was briefly in Alabama not long ago. I don't hold out any hope

Seems like they might be
Alabama or not, it is shameful that anyone is staying registered as a republican when they are actively endorsing a child rapist. Blind loyalty and tribalism is a disease.

Its pathetic that this man is struggling to get elected.
Rename the Republicans to Grand Old Pedophiles
The RNC is funding Moore again, after cutting him off couple weeks ago when it was toxic. McConnell is basically now saying he'll let the voters decide if they want Moore, rather than pushing to kick him out if he won like he said when it was toxic.
In a matter of 20 days the Republican Party has changed their mind and is now in favor (openly anyways) of the child molester.

Trump's hostile takeover of the GOP was so successful they're afraid of him.
