Grand Theft Auto III for iOS and Android released (for now only NZ and AUS)

[release]Grand Theft Auto 3, a tenth anniversary edition of Rockstar's infamous crime epic, is slowly rolling out onto the iPhone App Store around the world.
The game is currently available in New Zealand and Australia. The Android edition is not yet available anywhere. We will update this post when the game is available to download.
"Worst Place in America"
This birthday remake features the entire PlayStation 2 game, including a full-on story mode set in New York spoof Liberty City. You play as a mute crim who works his way through a dark and seedy underworld, doing driving and shooting missions for mob bosses.
The 462MB app boasts "updated graphics, character and vehicle models", and custom controls that are fit for touchscreen devices. This essentially boils down to a sea of virtual buttons, spread across the screen.
A CNET preview reveals that this new version also features the ability to instantly retry a mission if you fail, and auto-saving - two things missing from the 2001 release.
Compatibility
The iOS version is supported on iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, the fourth generation iPod Touch, iPad and iPad 2.
The Android edition is available for the HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R and T-Mobile G2x phones, and the Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S and Toshiba Thrive tablets.
A spokesman for the Rockstar has confirmed that this 10th Anniversary Edition game will not support the hot-selling Samsung Galaxy S II, despite previously promising support for the popular phone.
Cash money
Grand Theft Auto 3: 10th Anniversary Edition will cost £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 on iPhone. The Android app, when it shows up, should be available at pretty much the same price. [/release]
Claims that it's 4.99 when I bought it for 5.49, fuck the AUS edition.
Well, get it now guys.

why the fuck doesn't it support the samsung galaxy s 2 but the damn atrix
Holy fuck almost half a gig. That's pretty goddamn big for a cell phone game.
Can't wait for it to be released in the USA.
Wow for once something in Australia is being released early instead of late.
It'll be banned by dawn.
I thought GTA was already banned in Aus? Guess not
Would be cool if it had multiplayer capabilities.
Not for Galaxy S2?
Well, this isn't for me then. And I was really looking forward to it...
Fuck i've only got a 3G.
GUESS I GOTS TA SHELL OUT MORE MONEY THEN.

GTA 3 was banned but then censored and released. Not sure if the cuts were put back in like Vice City was (Vice city was censored but the cuts were patched back into the game by 2010)
I'd doubt the iOS and Android versions are censored in Aus, but not 100% sure.

eat shit and die
They're shooting themselves in the foot by not selling for the S II, one of the most fucking popular android phones.
Actually scratch that, they're taking a chainsaw to the foot and bathing it in battery acid.
Meanwhile on my shitphone...

I think that maybe a mistake has been made here...
It's compatible with my SGS2 and many other SGS2 owners on XDA are confirming that. We don't even have to use Chainfire. Also, I live in Austria and it's available here...

There's like several different models for the SII based on carrier. It's probably an issue with that, seeing how the market says mine is compatible.
Downloading the files right now on my Optimus 2x.

If San Andreas would be released on iOS, then Rockstar would have solved all boredom (as long as the batteries last).

Just take a few spare batteries, or in the case of iOS, a few spare iPhones with you. :v:
No iPod Touch 3G?
FUCK YOUR SHIT, I'LL TRY ANYWAYS!
