The birds interrupt my power...again!

Okay, so it all started about three years ago at about seven in the morning when the street was woken to what sounded like a shotgun going off.
Turns out a bird (Magpie) decided to complete the circuit.
Needless to say the bird got quite cooked.

So BC Hydro comes, replaced the fuse and things go quiet for three more years.
Then about three weeks ago while sitting down to dinner.

This time a fucking crow decided to do the exact same fucking thing.
No pic here but one of its legs exploded. You get the picture.
This time it's a Saturday and we have to wait two hours for the power to come back on.

THEN TODAY IT HAPPENS AGAIN!
I'm in the midst of compiling/debugging some MIPS code for someone when....

Lights go out and all I can do is go outside, scream and throw rocks at the pole to the amusement of my neighbors.

Half hour later, our hero once again arrives.

I assume it's another five minute "replace fuse and get back to the office" job but no.

He has to go and replace the whole fucking fuse assembly this time, all the while I'm hoping I fucking saved my debugging session.
Then he finally decides to finish off and close the circuit...

...then I remember that I left my hardware on....

...so the overload blows my fucking breaker and I have to fumble around in the dark to find the panel and restore power to my room.

After all that chaos and stress (yes, I forgot to save my session), I went searching for the bird.

Its eyes are still open. Probably has the last thing it ever saw etched into its retina, just like that guy in Wild Wild West.
I wasn't going to see if that was a myth or not so I resorted to poking it with a stick and then went inside to upload these pics.

Same thing happened, except a construction worked was replacing the road, found and underground cable and snipped it. Most of the power went out.
