Julie Uhrman, founder of the Ouya console, informed IGN that the police visit was just another event in an ongoing conflict with the ESA. Ouya had their console on display in a lot across the street from the Los Angeles Convention Center, which is the home of E3. But at 9am this morning, the ESA rented out the spaces in front of Ouya’s display and parked semi-trucks in them in what Uhrman felt was an attempt to block people from noticing Ouya’s presence.
Also the homeless apparently looked at the stall and hate OUYA games here's some extra (but fake) http://www.p4rgaming.com/homeless-invade-ouya-parking-lot-booth-say-ouya-is-not-a-console-fit-for-the-21st-century/
Wow, I kinda feel bad for OUYA, they are just trying to chase their dreams, no matter how hard they are failing. It's really pathetic actually.
Sounds pretty fucking petty.
That's the most tiny-ass-fucking stall... Edit: Couldn't even sell hotdogs out of it
That's the most tiny-ass-fucking stall...
They also had a cargo container, and some plastic lawn chairs.
They also had a cargo container, and some plastic lawn chairs.
yup.
So, what does the ESA have against Ouya?
Those are some pretty futuristic scooters the cops have there.
It was doomed to fail from the start, why even go this far.
I don't even remember what they were wanting to achieve with it. If anything I think those android game "systems" would be a better sell than whatever OUYA is.
I haven't been following the Ouya at all (in fact I had to look up what it even was just now), but damn. What did they do to upset the ESA this bad? To make the ESA go so far as to rent land and semi trucks just to block them off?
Kinda a bit dickish but the OUYA is failing
Kinda a bit dickish but the OUYA is failing
Gotta say I've reconsidered ordering after seeing how shitty the specs of the console are. I have a phone better than that.
Also the homeless apparently looked at the stall and hate OUYA games here's some extra http://www.p4rgaming.com/homeless-invade-ouya-parking-lot-booth-say-ouya-is-not-a-console-fit-for-the-21st-century/
That's a satire page, tho - it's not real. It's like Onion of gaming news. One of the articles is "Kotaku Considers Taking Site Down For a Day So They Can Claim They Went 24 Hours Without Posting Bad Journalism". Still hilarious, tho.
A quote from one of the hobos:
“I almost took a leak on one of these Ouyas since no one was using them,” said Clark, “When I realized it was a video game console I was shocked. I can’t believe how shitty this thing looks, not to mention the games on display. I haven’t played a video game in decades but if this is what people are playing now, then thank God I don’t have access to electricity to play these awful games.”
It hurts to laugh this hard
Ouya decided their presence at the event wouldn't be in the main expo hall, but at an outdoor booth in the parking lot opposite the show. This meant that the public would be able to get a look at their product without paying for an event pass, which IGN reports has caused something of a row with E3's organizers.
http://www.develop-online.net/news/44490/E3-2013-Ouya-duels-with-ESA-over-E3-presence
http://www.develop-online.net/news/44490/E3-2013-Ouya-duels-with-ESA-over-E3-presence
ESA in a bitch fit over a fucking android device. seriously
the stuff with the trucks in front of the OUYA lot is a pretty big dick move :v:

I was right for pausing to put that in. Thanks. Holy crap I actually remember this site too quality journalism.
Those are some pretty futuristic scooters the cops have there.
i think those are like those things i forget what they're called isn't it like treadmills or something
Those scooters just look ridiculous. Shame about the OUYA though, interesting concept.
i think those are like those things i forget what they're called isn't it like treadmills or something
It's like they took one of these and added an extra wheel
Poor Ouya, they keep getting bullied :v:
It's so funny to watch the ouya kickstarter video now.
It's like they took one of these and added an extra wheel
They have them at the grocery store near me. The security guards who have to use them always look like really depressed about it.
So, what does the ESA have against Ouya?
They don't want random people setting up stalls around their convention center, they're coming down hard on Ouya so no one else tries, or it could end up like a bazaar.
i think those are like those things i forget what they're called isn't it like treadmills or something
Well their called segways, but those are pretty badass compared to one of them and the ones the cops have in the picture has three wheels
They don't want random people setting up stalls around their convention center, they're coming down hard on Ouya so no one else tries, or it could end up like a bazaar.
Ouya is across the street and rented out their space, esa rented space in front of them to block them and then called the cops on them.
ESA is acting like a child regarding this. Why not compete fairly instead?
Well their called segways, but those are pretty badass compared to one of them and the ones the cops have in the picture has three wheels
Didn't the CEO die because he drove one off a cliff or something
