Overusing the word "Stalker" - General

I was on facebook, and my brother told me to add some of his friends (They're a couple years older than me) I added them, and occasionally said "Hi" to them. They never responded, and complained to my brother that i "Stalked" them. Since when was being polite and friendly "Stalking"? Also, last year i took the bus to school, and i said hi to some new girl on the bus (A 6th grader) and she said to all her friends "OH EM GEE STAWKER!!!!1" Just a few days ago, I was at my cousins house, and they had an 8 month of in the house, and it was kind of cute the way he was just throwing things around. all the toys he had, he would just throw around and smash on the floor, so i grabbed my camera and started to record his rampage. My cousin, who is just about the same age as me (And super-angsty, mind you) said "WOW LOL THATS TOTALLY STALKER-ISH" Why has out society degraded so much into personal isolationism that doing any form of social interaction to attempt to be nice is now considered "Stalking"? last I checked, stalking was following someone to ther home, watching everything they do, and raping them later.

To me, "Stalker" is the new "Epic Fail": it's being so overused I want to kick the person who said that in the genitalia area.

It's because people are paranoid these days.

That's eventually what happens with certain expressions. They just change/expand their meaning as soon as wide spread enough. Take for example Autotune.

Everyone at my school uses the word "Creeper" now. It's quite annoying.

eh, its modern culture. teen girls use it alot. i hate the word so much because now everything i do is mostly described by that cursed word.

I wouldn't say I'm a stalker, but I'm a bit weird. There's this girl on youtube who posted a video of her and her friend singing. Her friend had nice hair. The girl posted a video showing what was in her bag and showed her student ID to the camera displaying her full name for about half a second. I searched her on myspace, found her friend and more pictures of her awesome hair

I barely ever see it used except in combination with the game.

I always hated talking to my friends in school about the game because people could hear just the title or whatever and get the wrong impression

I'm terrified of being creepy when talking to people, well girls mainly.

My dad was in UK for work, and he got almost accused of being child rapist and arrested. It was during summer, when we, here in Czech Republic already have summer holidays, and he saw some kids (dressed in school uniforms, which also isn't common in there) on their way to school, so he took cellphone photo. He wanted to send it to us to taunt us, as we were having lazy time home while UK kids were still having school. Later, he got contacted by local police. Apparently, the kids noticed unknown guy taking photo of them (he was on a bus, they just walked by on the street), and reported him. I bet he is still on some UK child molester watchlist :v:

Well I know a kid who follows me and my friends around at lunch, stands and peers over our shoulders when we're talking, every now and then he'll pick a girl, and then proceed to follow her around, comment on her every status on Facebook, and be generally stalker-like. A few of the girls he has followed around have actually confronted him about it and he has to stand there with a red face while the girl explains to him that she doesn't like him and she wants him to stop following her. In fact one girl I know even pretended she was a lesbian and asked me to back her up when she told him. He is honestly a social retard and has no friends in or out of school. If that's not a stalker I don't know what is.

I use Creeper And I use it the right way too, like when someone is arrested for stalking someone, or follows them home. Not when somebody talks to me
