(AP) — A Mississippi mother was arrested Wednesday in the death of her 3-year-old son after authorities said they found the child's burned body in an oven. Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said police found Tristan Robinson's body inside the electric oven at his mother's apartment shortly after midnight. Johnson said the child had been burned in the oven, but an autopsy was ordered to determine whether he died before or after being put there. Greenville Police Chief Freddie Cannon said Terrie A. Robinson, 24, was charged with murder. She was to be arraigned Thursday in Greenville, a city of about 35,000 residents in the Mississippi Delta. It wasn't immediately clear if she had hired a lawyer. Johnson said the child's body was still warm when it was removed from the oven. "This is a really sad moment for me. I've seen a lot of things, but this is one that will stick in my memory for a long, long time," Johnson said. There appeared to be some trauma to the boy's head, Johnson said, and that could have happened before he was placed in the oven. Officers found the body after responding to an emergency call, but the chief didn't want to release any details because of an ongoing investigation. Johnson said a little girl found in the home was placed in the care of the Mississippi Department of Human Services. Terrie Robinson's twin sister, Sherrie Robinson, told WXVT-TV that people should not judge her sister before all the facts are known. "She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong. We don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom cause that's not what she is," Sherrie Robinson told the TV station.[/release] I want to believe he was dead before being in there... I really, _Really_ want to believe he was dead before ending up inside that oven... I don't really want to think of a mother beating and cooking alive [del]his[/del] her own son. Also, I really don't understand how could her sister say what she said with a straight face. That's SO infuriating... *** UPDATE: Coroner: Mississippi toddler was alive when put in oven, died from heat *** Source [release]
Tristan Robinson
A coroner says a toddler in Mississippi whose body was found in an oven died from heat injuries. Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson said Friday that the pathologist is still trying to determine if 3-year-old Tristan Robinson was conscious when he was put inside the electric oven. He also appeared to have suffered trauma to his head. Police found the boy's body at his mother's apartment Wednesday. Preliminary autopsy results show he died from "thermal injuries" from being in the hot oven. Greenville police have charged the boy's 24-year-old mother, Terrie A. Robinson, with murder. She is being held on a $5 million bond.[/release] Wow... just, wow... no matter how hard I try, I cannot imagine what that kid went through his final moments, inside that oven. I seriously hope he was unconscious... I _Really_ fucking hope he was unconscious. As for his mother... grr *Rage*
reminds me of that thread in General Discussion where a kid killed his mom because she took away his PS3 and he tried to stuff her in the oven after knocking her out
My name is Tristan. :ohdear:
"She was a great parent, a good person. We don't know what's wrong. We don't know what happened. Do not sit there and call her a bad mom cause that's not what she is,"
Because a good parent lets their child climb into an oven.
Because a good parent lets their child climb into an oven.
I know, right... that paragraph made my blood boil.
I know, right... that paragraph made my blood boil.
Heh, pun.
Even if the boy had been dead before being put into the oven it is still a really fucked up story. Oh hey my little boy is dead... Might as well put him in the oven, I guess.

That's not how you should be preparing hot chicken. [editline]3rd March 2011[/editline] Stupid woman.
Johnson said the child's body was still warm when it was removed from the oven.
I'm really, really sorry, but did anyone else find that funny. I just imagine a group of terrified people, standing around speechless, then one guy is like, "Guys, it's okay; It's still warm". I know that it had to be done to determine the time of death, it's just so weird reading it. Oh yeah, and if her sister is really defending her, maybe someone should keep an eye on her, and let's hope they aren't a family of cannibals.
Like I said before, parenting is a lost art.
Because a good parent lets their child climb into an oven.
A good parent puts their children in a deep fryer.

:smith: I have officially lost all faith in humanity. This is so beyond the level of fucked up, there are no proper words for it.
:smith: I have officially lost all faith in humanity. This is so beyond the level of fucked up, there are no proper words for it.
You should have lost faith in humanity when they invented convectional ovens. because this is why they were made, not for cooking food in it. You should go to an appliance store and blow it up. Revenge this child!
As much as it pains me I really hope he was killed in a far less painful and slow way before he was put in the oven. I can't imagine the agony a child would go through to die this way. :(
My name is Tristan. :ohdear:
You're next.
