I'll post a source when available, but following up the previous thread, it appears to have been applied for myself a Telstra internet user.

When did thepiratebay switch to using the .org extension and not the .se?
what a title

My friend who is with Telstra had it blocked almost the same day I saw the news article. Upon checking for myself right now, it appears to have been blocked for me too on TPG.
optus have blocked it aswell. works fine on Dodo though

I pride myself with my ability for brevity.
Sorry, I meant:
I.
Well, what a dark day. So how do I get around this, exactly? Not even for any particular need to pirate. Just to sort of, stick it to them.
Snip it's fixed

Set your DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (backup server to 8.8.4.4) and enjoy Google's unfiltered internet.
anyone tried it with vpn?

That is a lot friendlier than the US's, iirc.
Not blocked on my isp since it's a smaller one. Wonder how long they can keep it up though.

For those who don't know how to do this:
1 - Right click on the internet connection tray icon and choose "Open Network and Sharing Centre"
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO23.png[/t]
2 - In this panel, click "Change adapter settings"
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO2w.png[/t]
3 - In this panel, doubleclick your currently active Wifi or ethernet connection.
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO2G.png[/t]
4 - In this panel, click "Properties"
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO2O.png[/t]
5 - In this panel, doubleclick "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)"
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO3n.png[/t]
6 - In this panel, enable "Use the following DNS server adresses:", and then fill in the numbers shown (Googles DNS server)
[t]https://puu.sh/sZO3N.png[/t]
7 - Now DNS blocks will no longer work.
Wonder if Telstra set up a DNS block as a giant middle finger to the court and to Village & co or because they were lazy.

Yes.
it appears to have been blocked for me too on TPG.
Really?
I'm on TPG as well and I seem to be able to get on it fine.

I was using this method since the other day when they first blocked it, Seems I can no longer get to the site anymore so they switched to another type of block
I am with Telstra

thepiratebay.org was timing out for me, and thepiratebay.se brought up a "content denied" page similar to OP. Maybe it hasn't affected everywhere yet?

I've got .se bookmarked, it just redirects to .org for me.

Is there any downside to doing this?

I've used 8.8.8.8 with 8.8.4.4 as backup for years.. it doesn't work in this instance.
Just flashed my router, and setup those Google DNS servers again as primary/secondary from the router side, and it works. :why:

why not use this?

I never knew that one.
I will make a good use from this.
Thank god the internet isn't as simple as that
