I think it really depends on Googles definition of "hateful, offensive and derogatory content" and what "potentially objectionable" really means. I personally think this is a bad move, but at the same time I think that advertisers should know where their ads are showed, and they should have the possibility of choosing their target audience.
I think this sort of thing is inevitable. People complain to companies about where they're advertising, if Youtube doesn't allow companies to fix it, people and the companies would complain to Youtube. It's still bad though, and I wish people wouldn't go after the wallets of those they disagree with.
