Shure Sm57 is best place to start
not for kick drum but for snare its great also you can try a condenser for hi hats but you dont need one
I would recommend a pair of sm57s to start
CAD has a sell for a four piece mic kit.
i'm kind of looking for just one microphone
better be recording just one drum then :v:
Seriously though, you'll need more than one mic to cover the whole kit, if you want a half decent recording.
well i just want to cover songs and post them, i'm not recording with a band or anything
Still though. If you want a good recording a setup like this would be good:

Or even without the kick, just the two overheads to start.
if you want one just get an sm58 but I can guarantee you will be disappointed
drums don't do with one mic

Sm57 works awesome for kick drum if you place it far from the kick drum, I'd also recommend placing an sm57 behind the drummer (right shoulder, against either the snare or kick) for a really fat sound that captures everything.
SM57 really is the ultimate microphone, it works for essentially everything and is really cheap

One good condensator microphone behind the drummer works really well if you want to capture a kit the way it sounds
2 SE Electronics condensator microphones is pretty nifty, and SM57s for snare and toms. Can't recommend one for kick, don't know the brand we're using.

If you're gonna do recordings it won't work with only one microphone. Drum covers on youtube - buy 2 condensator mics, I guess it'll do.
I recently used this setup to record drums at a friends place:
Kick: AKG d112
Snare: AKG D3700
Overheads: 2 DPA's
Room: Sony ECM-999PR (stereo mic)
Floortom: Rode M3
Worked pretty well. I processed the shit out of it though, since we recorded mostly breaks to chop up for sampling :v
