I really got into windsurfing this summer and really beginning to like this sport, even if I'm only an amateur. And I've been wondering for some weeks now - does anyone from Facepunch windsurfs? Where you go, what you swim on and you general thoughts.

I've never been wind surfing, but I go surfing at Myrtle Beach and a few places in Florida. I normally see a few people wind surfing each year at Panama City Beach, FL. I've always wanted to try it since I started surfing, how is it?
It's a technical sport, so not much strength is really required (you'll get stronger on the board though), speeds are greater then those of surfing, and unlike yachting you can really feel the speed you're moving at, since you're closer to water. Community is surprisingly REALLY friendly, great people everywhere. While not the cheapest one, you can find lots of rental shops, and after some time decide on buying your own gear. Still not the most expensive one on the water (look yachting and kitesurfing).
"so not much strength is really required" bullshit its fucking hard
Really? I'm somewhat fat and weak, and can handle it without much problem. Still, I'm a beginner so I maybe biased as I haven't seen much.
I do. There's a lake in Tallahassee that I go to in Summer that's pretty nice and usually windy.
It's obviously wind can't you read?
Isn't swimming on wind kind of hard?

I used to, and I used to do it at Land's end which is at the bottom of England. I stopped because I had my leg cut open by the fin of a surfer :v:
Too dangerous
