Spoiler alert! This whole talk is a spoiler. I've seen a good portion of my show, and this is my opinion so far... [sp]Reasons 1. Everyone is stupid No one makes good decisions, I'm a city boy and I could make better survival decisions. They wait 7 days before the survivals actually organize anything! Whenever someone needs something from another character they never ask, they just steal it, I mean the guy didn't even need it you could have just asked for it? They decide to move base into a cave in the jungle, where a giant monster lives. When a man threatens to kill someone on the island, the survivors decide to just lay around the entire island away from each other (like usual), just with some guards around for defense. Of course someone dies. If it were up to me, we would have all jumped into a cave and stayed up all night so when the killer comes around, everyone is there to jump him. Plus various other bad decisions. 2. The Island is ridiculous. Polar bears live on a tropical island. 3. Pointless secrets Some characters will discover something really important, and are to lazy to mention it to the others. Like when Jack finds the pilot and learns they will never be saved, yet Jack does not tell them this because he is to lazy to mention it. 4. The Blonde Girl She is just so annoying, can we vote her off the island or something? I get that its her character, but its just one of my pet peeves, really annoying characters. I understands if you don't find this as a problem. 5. The Flashbacks The flashbacks are suppose to develop characters, but 99% of the time, they are never meaningful to the rest of the show. The stories are never brought up again. I feel like its just away to kill air time. 6. Plot holes. Many in the show. One big one, when the Iraqi finds the power cable, shouldn't they follow the cable to civilization? I mean just build a raft, lift up the cable, pull yourself along it, and use it to go to society. Those cables don't go for long, its source must be close! Other stuff like that. 7. J.J Abrams I just have a personal beef with the producer. He ruined Star Trek, and will soon ruin Star Wars. I can understand if you like him.[sp] 8. The Ending Haven't seen it yet. But I heard its so weird! Please tell me if you forgot anything. Or if you disagree, show me counter evidence please.
Try watching the show, it might help you understand a few things.
You have insulted me......
2. The Island is ridiculous. Polar bears live on a tropical island.
Learn to watch the show before making a comment, seriously it's explained in the show
I regret never watching Lost. Now i can't watch it because i've been told the ending sucks :(
Can I ask why you think J.J. Abrams is going to ruin Star Wars?
It's been years since I've watched Lost but didn't they build a raft at one point and all it did was [sp]loop back to the Island?[/sp]
JJ made Star Trek watchable, sorry nerds.
lost is great [editline]4th August 2014[/editline] fav episode was when hugo couldn't stop eating [editline]4th August 2014[/editline] a.k.a. every episode
Is this serious
Speaking of Lost, why does no-one seem to remember what the actual ending was when complaining about it? I keep seeing people go "oh the ending was so dumb, they were all just in purgatory, that's so dumb". That wasn't the ending, the purgatory thing was only a wrap-up to the alternate universe thing that was going on in the last season. The ending of the actual main story was with a bunch of them leaving the island for real and Hurley and Ben staying to guard the island.
My main issue with the show was (and for many, too) they made too many mysteries and a lot of them then had very brief or boring explanation. [sp]I still can't believe how boring was the Jacob episode, the one was I was looking forward to a lot.[/sp] Another big disappointment was Claire's arc. The only things I truly enjoyed in the whole show were [sp]few love stories ("Jack and his dad", Jin and Sun (earlier seasons), Sawyer and Juliet, Penny and Desmond of course) and Ben's redemption[/sp].
1. Everyone is stupid
No, people do ask each other for items, it's Sawyer stealing things for personal reasons. But of course I'm sure you're much smarter than everyone on the show and would have a perfect survival system set up within hours. Yes, moving into the cave and off the beach is a contentious issue, which is why half the group refuse to go, why would they move in when they think monsters are in the forest? They need the fresh water, all this is made incredibly obvious in the show. .. "They decide to move base into a cave in the jungle, where a giant monster lives." ... "If it were up to me, we would have all jumped into a cave and stayed up all night so when the killer comes around, everyone is there to jump him." .. uhhuh.
2. The Island is ridiculous.
Maybe continue watching the show to find out why polar bears are on a tropical island.
3. Pointless secrets
Hey everyone! I learnt that everything is hopeless, we'll never be saved and we're all going to die here! - nope can't think of a reason to keep that a secret.
4. The Blonde Girl
Aside from the fact Shannon is supposed to be irritating and vapid, and that your personal irks with individual characters being irrelevant to whether or not Lost is a good show, in my opinion she becomes massively empathetic by the time you understand her back story.
5. The Flashbacks
If you really think every single flashback episode is filler this show isn't for you.
6. Plot holes.
Did you not watch to the end of the episode? Seriously? Because they do follow the power cable.
7. J.J Abrams
QQ I hate JJ Abrams so I'm looking for reasons to hate everything else he's worked on :'(
8. The Ending
This is the only legitimate complaint you could have made here. Most people agree Lost has a terrible and inconclusive ending, which is a shame for a show that had such a solid start and interesting characters. To anyone who hasn't seen Lost and has been worried by this post please understand that the dumb ratings are there for a reason, in my opinion Lost is an excellent show - it's not perfect and there certainly are plot holes, and to be honest it does get weaker as seasons go by, but it's also significantly better than many shows on TV. This rant appears to be written by someone that only saw the show by occasionally walking in while friends had it on.
Lost owns, go fuck yourself for having a shitty opinion.
JJ made Star Trek watchable, sorry nerds.
I'm a massive Star Trek nerd and Abrams still made the best movies
2. The Island is ridiculous. Polar bears live on a tropical island.
So, polar bears make no sense, but you have no issues with a smoke monster?
4. The Blonde Girl
Good news for you. Watch past season three and she won't be an issue.
First two seasons of Lost were the best imo.
First two seasons of Lost were the best imo.
Season 4 was a masterpiece
Season 4 was a masterpiece
The Constant had to have been my favorite episode out of that season
I liked a lot of the show and was disappointed by a lot of the show. To someone just starting to watch I'll say: The characters they add along the way add A LOT of fun and enjoyment to the show. If you quit watching because the initial main characters don't interest you then you will be missing out. None of the main mysteries get solved. If you MUST know what the island is, stop watching and wasting your time. Smaller mysteries do have answers provided, but usually they are very anti-climatic and so don't count on them to add enjoyment. Like with the polar bears you'll just say "So that's all that was about? Meh". There are some really top notch episodes sprinkled throughout the show. Kate at the end in the black dress makes the end worth watching.
couldn't take the story seriously. I'm sorry but I can only handle so many pointless, meaningless, and explanation-less things like the smoke monster. I hated how someone would find shit like "wow evidence of polar bears and ping-pong" and that shit would later never be expanded upon. My gripe with the Island is that I can't take many "impossible random magic place" settings seriously when it keeps farting shit at me like the smoke monster and now this company or whatever and some number machine computer shit? By then I just lost all interest. Lost didn't feel mysterious at all, it felt like the writing was awful and it kept adding ridiculous elements as if the writers were just winging it episode by episode. Lost was a show about well-written and great, likable characters in the worst, badly written setting. Seriously the only redeeming factor in this shit show is that some if not most of the characters are really interesting. Like that one druggie guy who still has a stash after the crash, but stops it, but then helps deliver the baby or something and people are having sketchy feelings about him even though he has a golden heart and wants to protect the baby etc. Probably remembered it wrong but shit like that. This show could have easily been much better in my opinion if they just stuck to people from a passenger plane getting stuck on an island. Then you can start adding a mystery to the island that DOESN'T end in some [sp]purgatory bullshit or laughable attempt at serious smoke-monster.[/sp]
Am I the only one that liked the ending? I mean it was sad, meaningful, deep, happy, etc.
I liked the ending, [sp]It was about everyone coping with what they had done in there lives and moving on to a happier place. I feel like LOST couldn't have ended in a better way. Especially with the way Ben didn't want to move on until Alex and Rousseau had moved on, to atone with what he had done when he was living.[/sp]
at first I didn't like the ending but as I thought more about it I thought it was pretty much the best way it could have possibly ended
Am I the only one that liked the ending? I mean it was sad, meaningful, deep, happy, etc.
It was a good ending, but for another show. That ending had nothing to do with the show I was watching, that's my reason for not liking it.
It was a good ending, but for another show. That ending had nothing to do with the show I was watching, that's my reason for not liking it.
The ending was about Redemption and that's exactly what the show was about Ben for Deceiving the Surviors, [sp]Killing Jacob[/sp] and [sp]Murdering Locke[/sp] Boone with his constant failure to do anything right Charlie with is addiction Desmond with Cowardice Hurley with his supposed "Bad Luck" Jack with his relationship with his father Jin with his relationship with Sun Kate with her past as a fugitive Locke with him being in a wheelchair after his father pushes him out of a window Michael for being a terrible father Sawyer for being a Con man Sayid for his life as a Torturer in the Iraqi Republican Guard Shannon with his selfishness Sun for not being able to become an individual Every single character was redeemed in one way or another, some sooner than others, but the show and it's ending definitely are connected with one another
Everyone is free to have their own opinion, unlike OP however because he has a shit opinion. p.s. pui gg
The Richard Alpert episode wads the most mindblowing hour in recent TV history. [sp] the series finale was shit fight me fgt[/sp]
I've watched the show twice, once when it first came out and then again a few years ago, I still don't fucking understand half the shit that happened. I can't even remember the ending, I remember there were some fantastic episodes and others that are utter tv shite. Can someone, quickly break down and explain the basic plot?
