[sp]Nostalgic Critic Movie[/sp] if he's serious then jesus christ
One autist with a spastic film critiques a film-maker who's slightly less autistic. Much meta.
The entire review is a joke. Just like how he reviews his over films. It's sad how some people can't tell the difference between a joke and an actual critique. Watch their vlogs or their behind the scenes videos and you'll get the message.
One autist with a spastic film critiques a film-maker who's slightly less autistic. Much meta.
You seem well placed to diagnose autism through the internet please tell me more
And what a treat those are. If you want to feel like committing suicide, I wholeheartedly recommend "Kickassia", Aka "Cinemasnob is the only person who can act"
And the only good reviewer left on TGWTG. Seriously, Brad is still great.

To be fair it's a fucking B movie, I get it's a joke, but come on IT'S A B movie. If it were done in the RLM style I could like it but eh...
nostalgia critic is a pretty crap reviewer compare him to redlettermedia, where they actually review the movie instead of just recounting the plot and screaming about it
nostalgia critic is a pretty crap reviewer compare him to redlettermedia, where they actually review the movie instead of just recounting the plot and screaming about it
RLM does it in a gag way with a bunch of people and know how not to over due things. NC just goes way too over the top too much of the time
And RLM uses their skits very sparingly. And they're actually funny most times.
I can watch an entire RLM review thats nearly two hours long about Revenge of the Sith because its actually interesting and entertaining at the same time. A lot of the humour also comes just from showing bizarre shit on their own (like behind the scenes footage of filming) without any commentary or editing. The Nostalgia critic (and most reviewers like him) are irritating, shallow, talentless hacks who make superficial criticisms of the movies they review. Any movies they themselves make are boring and unfunny messes.
One autist with a spastic film critiques a film-maker who's slightly less autistic. Much meta.
When are we going to stop using autism as an insult?
Man, his videos are so much more watchable without any of the skits.
When are we going to stop using autism as an insult?
When everyone on the internet becomes mature. Or until someone makes another, equally insulting insult.
It's a very reassuring thought that because of RLM and their higher production values, people like the NC have to use higher production values/put more thought into their work. These guys know RLM is starting to show how shit they are and are either responding by trying to appeal to the more mature audience, or by trying to leech off them like they did with the AVGN years ago.
Cinema Snob has always been fantastic. I can't think of a review of his I haven't enjoyed.
There's some of his reviews I won't watch because even low-budget 1980s gore effects still make me uneasy. And yet I sat through his review of "Gross Out" with no problems.
wow i can feel the edge coming from you please keep teaching us why nostalgia critic is the spawn of satan
What edge? Do you even know what you're talking about?
When everyone on the internet becomes mature. Or until someone makes another, equally insulting insult.
its basically a word that's lost its meaning kinda like the word retard before it
There's nothing worse than a boring comedy. Case in point, the AVGN movie.
I'd give you that if it was backed by banks and shit. All this was crowd funded. For a crowd funded movie, this did as well as you could expect.
I'd give you that if it was backed by banks and shit. All this was crowd funded. For a crowd funded movie, this did as well as you could expect.
Blue Ruin was a crowd funded movie, and it was pretty fantastic.
NC sucks and his humor is really bad. Snob is better
AVGN movie was utter garbage, a massive disappointment and cinematic failure. I still respect James for all the hard work and passion he put into it, but that just makes it all the more sad.
Meh. I basically grew up on the nerd (sounds weird saying that. I saw his Nightmare on Elm Street review when it was new. I was 11.) and I really, really didn't like the movie. I couldn't believe how bored I was by it, especially as someone who's been a fan almost half his life. I loved the very end gag on this review, though. I still love James and his work, he just can't make a feature length film about the nerd. It was dead on arrival.
This. I just expected a longer AVGN episode, kind of like the Friday the 13th episode, the Texas the chainsaw massacre and Halloween (speaking of Halloween, what the hell happened to the continuation of that episode? The one where Michael Myers is trying to kill the nerd.) I wanted the movie to be about James reviewing and playing trough ET in the movie not just for a few minutes during the end credits, like being forced to review it or something, i know it may have not been enough, so what? Put in more games or i don't know. Also, those two characters, the black guy and the woman, could have been easily played by Mike and Justin. There was absolutely no reason not to, the fans are aéé familiar with them, they have been part of AVGN since the very beginning, they are friends of James etc... Hell, they only show up for a brief moment and considering Mike's involvement in AVGN, i feel like it's a bit assholeish from James not to involve him in his movie. My biggest question however is this: Is it true that it was actually James's wife who wanted it to be a black guy and a "gaming chick" because of diversity? I have seen that she is actually credited at the end of the movie, i wonder what her involvement was...
Yeah, literally all the anniversary films are bad. They almost always have one or two moments that make me laugh, but considering that they're all EXTREMELY LONG for what they are, that's saying something. Wasn't "To Boldly Flee" like fucking 3 1/2 hours?
There was stuff they cut out. Which means that there was even more to that movie.
wow i can feel the edge coming from you please keep teaching us why nostalgia critic is the spawn of satan
let me break it down for you more people laugh at RLM jokes and skits than nostalgia critic. that's the sad truth
No one cares. If the people in this thread weren't willing to give him a chance, they wouldn't be here.
Which is why this thread is also full of people criticizing him, often harshly? Criticizing something doesn't make you edgy. Especially if you don't exaggerate the word "aaaaaaaaaaaaand" or "buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut".
Rolfe seems to be really passionate about Cinematography, I wish he'd try to make a more serious movie, although that's obviously not so easy.
