RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Riverside police and transportation officials were investigating the death of a mother killed when a Metrolink train struck her, moments after pushing her toddler in a stroller out of the way. The Eastbound Metrolink 860 hit Susan Dibene at the Mary Street/Brockton Avenue grade crossing shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday, according to police and a coroner's spokesman. Dibene, 33, lived in Riverside. The child, believed to be about 2, was unharmed. Witnesses told police the crossing arms were down, and the warning lights were flashing. "The railroad safety arms came down to indicate a train was coming," police Lt. Jaybee Brennan said. The stroller apparently got caught on the tracks, and Dibene pushed it out of the way just before being struck. "I just came from the store and I was walking and all I saw was the baby getting out of the railroad tracks and what I did was just get the baby, get her in the sidewalk, because I didn't want her to get hit by other cars," said Sandra Catillo, a witness. "I was just like at first I saw a man, and I was like did he leave her their. But then I was like no because someone else came and told me that the lady was passing by. And I was like did she randomly come out of nowhere, did she fall off the train? Then I was like no, her mom had got run over." About 60 people on the train, which originated in Oceanside, were shuttled by bus to the end of the line in San Bernardino.
http://www.kesq.com/news/29432942/detail.html Wow, amazing woman, sacrificing your life for your child. RIP.

I take the metrolink everyday, so I'm amazed that I didn't hear about this earlier.
Psssh. Yeah, like, totally.
God, this is like, a tragedy.
As horrible as it is that she died, people like her manage to restore my faith in humanity, even if it's just a small bit. Rest in peace.

Get to know people and then say shit about humans
Wow that's terrible, there seems to be a surprising amount of deaths by wheels getting stuck in railway tracks.
because he based that statement entirely on articles and not real experience or actual trends :downs:
No yeah he definitely based that statement on articles. No one who actually knows many humans actually thinks they're terrible and lose faith in them. I mean intrinsically your friends or loved ones are gonna be enjoyable and friendly, and if you think all humans are unfriendly and unenjoyable then you must not have any friends or loved ones. And what actual trends? You mean the trends that focus on the bad and never the good?
Boy that kid is gonna be permanently depressed when he/she grows and finds out what happened.
Wow, i read the title as Riverside motherfucker (That song)
Wow, i read the title as Riverside motherfucker (That song)
That's not a song, it's the father of that child.

I live in Riverside...sad... Bet this'll be everywhere tomorrow.
Well this made me both sad and sentimental at the same time. All I can say is :unsmith:.

The article isn't telling the full story, how does a train instantly come by and hit you when you get stuck on the tracks with a stroller? Sounds like she tried racing it.
Rescue effort probably went something like this. .. I'm so going to hell for this.
How is babby stroller stuck in tracks?
No witnesses ever mention the tidal wave of gore?

[editline]16th October 2011[/editline]
it would suck if that baby grows up to be a huge fucking asshole
I'm thinking more of growing up to be a super hero because of a tragic childhood.
