You don't know how to nibble or taste something, so you just eat the strange object.

Roll along the walls and eat the sewer sludge, upping your defence.
Attempt to absorb some of the pipe's lining, maybe it'll boost your defense. If not, retreat into the pipe to look for metal shavings and lumps of waste matter.
