Rules for a packa fools! Rules be simple. Post some "art" when you first started out, and post some art you have worked on recently. It's that easy! (I know there is another improvement art thread but that was that stupid "Onward to 2010!" DA meme thread) Have fun or i'll Google "what rhymes with fun".

Don't know whether this is a "visual art only" zone or not, but hopefully you won't go Roman on my ass if it is. Excerpt from a middle-school writing assignment. "Great Job, very impressive!" wrote my English teacher across the top.
The androids dashed towards each other in mid-air, their jetpacks leaving glimering blue streaks of exhaust from the anti-grav pods behind them, and there was an explosion of blue light as the clashed. The camera drones moved in for a better look as the lenses adjusted to the bright flash, and the fans held their breath to see who had won. Finally they saw the black bot fall to the ground, cut in half at the waste and leaking big plumes of thick black smoke and sparks, and they exploded with cheers. Android X-3 was the winner. Android X-3 flew back down to the ground, but his jetpack sputter out and failed while he was still fifty feet above the ground and he fell the rest of the way, colliding with the crowd with the force of a small meteor. The crowd gasped, their hero had fallen! X-3 struggled to its feet in the small crator it had made in the arena's concrete floor, sparks shooting from the various bullet holes and crumpled metal tears in his body. "He's not going to make it," said the engineer back in his control sation. "He's been dealt a fatal blow. Theres nothing Ican do." Elizabeth shook her head, her golden hair bouncing off her shoulders in disarray, "No!" she cried, "Please do something! You can fix him, right? Fix him!" "I can't fix him," the engineer said, shaking his head sadly. "Nobody can."
An excerpt from my most recent piece of writing. Nobody wrote "great job" across the top of it, but I like to think I've improved nontheless (even if only by a little).
Jack's Diner wasn't home, but Patrick was content enough to be working in New York City, a place where his strangeness didn't seem so important. Everybody seemed strange there, especially the customers that came into Jack's during the earliest hours of the morning. "Extra crispy bacon and scrambled eggs," said the man in the dog suit. The suit's mask, a grinning homemade dog-head furred with felt, sat on the seat beside him like a decapitated mascot. Dog-Man was a regular, and not the strangest of them by a long shot. His voice was high and nasally, and he had a rather pronounced lisp. "You got it, man." Patrick scrawled the order on a pink slip and clipped it to the wire in front of the cook's window. "Party tonight?" he asked. "You know me," he chuckled. "I'm a party animal." Patrick nodded, smiled politely, and directed the conversation to safer grounds. The last time he asked Dog-Man about his parties, he needed a shower after hearing the details. "Why a dog? Why not a sheep or something?" The man grinned, his eyes gleaming behind the thick frames of his spectacles. The lights flickered, and outside a stray mutt started barking. The Dog-man playfully barked along with it. "I didn't choose, you know," he said after a quick bow-wow. "I actually am a dog. I'm just stuck in a person's body." "Do you really believe that?" Patrick asked. "Yeah. Does that seem weird?" Patrick smiled as the cook rang the bell and slid the Dog-Man's food across the counter. "Not at all. I'm something even stranger than a dog." "Oh?" The man asked, spearing a piece of bacon on his fork and shoveling into his eggs. "What are you, then?" "A person." The two men laughed with each other, but it was forced. Patrick knew the Dog-Man would later go home to his dirty apartment and write another suicide note which would end up in the wastebasket. None of his customers were ever as happy as they acted, and they often confided in him their worries, troubles, and shortcomings--not because he was their friend, but because he was a stranger too. Patrick always did his best to listen.
