The BBC has revealed it's working on a new drama based on the Houser brothers and the creation of Grand Theft Auto. BBC News reveals the "new drama based on Grand Theft Auto" will come as part of a concerted effort to get the UK more interested in coding and technology. Other aspects of the scheme include giving a million Micro Bits - stripped down computers similar to a Raspberry Pi - to students starting secondary school this year.
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/03/12/bbc-working-on-new-drama-based-on-grand-theft-auto
A season of programmes and online activity involving the BBC’s biggest and best-loved brands, including Doctor Who, EastEnders, Radio 1, The One Show, Children in Need, BBC Weather and many more, including a new BBC Two drama based on Grand Theft Auto and a documentary on Bletchley Park
http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2015/make-it-digital Obviously, there's little to no information on this yet. However, thoughts?
Oh, based on the studio while they were making the game, not based on the games themselves.
That's kind of cool.
Oh right, that makes a lot more sense than an actual Grand Theft Auto TV show.
The Season Finale will end on a cliffhanger as the main cast must combat their new foe....That fucking train Big smoke wants me to catch! And maybe those air academy missions, fuck them utterly.
I hope it will include someone like Trevor.
That's the equivalent of making a romance from Duke Nukem

Guys, it's on the first line FFS
The BBC has revealed it's working on a new drama based on the Houser brothers and the creation of Grand Theft Auto.
ooh yay finally people will recognize that GTA is a scottish game; took me completely by surprise when I found out it was originally developed in Dundee, and that I actually walk past Rockstar North's offices on a weekly basis [t]http://i.imgur.com/nEyIaWg.jpg[/t]
For a moment, I imagined a TV series that followed the wacky misadventures of Trevor. I'm slightly disappointed that isn't the case.

The party they had for the PS4 and XBone GTAV launch was... well, lets just say I'm still jealous. Pretty sure David Jones went to Abertay actually, I know a few of his ex DMA and Realtime Worlds colleagues teach there. The year tutor for my honours project worked on the original Lemmings.
I could see it now... CJ: Top to the mornin' to ya, Smoke! Shall we take the lorry in order to trade a few insults with those unrefined Ballas chaps in East Los Santos? Big Smoke: Mm, yes, quite, Ser CJ. Tis' be a beautiful time to be living in San Andreas! Scene outpans to show London and then the scene cuts to the Houser brothers. Dan Houser: I think this needs a rewrite.
GTA is already made in Scotland smartass.

I'd watch it, the story of how GTA came about and created one of the biggest players in the UK game dev scene could be quite interesting. GTA faced constant hurdles even in the 2D days from people worrying about it, getting something like that published must have been hell.
Hosted by Jeremy Clarkson :v:

Now inlcuding unseen footage of GTA V PC delays!

Cameos from the Stig and the entire Top Gear cast
We're going to end up getting too many people becoming progammers instead of too little soon.
We're going to end up getting too many people becoming progammers instead of too little soon.
With the way the modern world is developing, companies desperatly need more code monkeys.
I wonder if Race'n'Chase will be mentioned. Without this, Grand Theft Auto would have never become a reality.
When i saw this thread i immediately thought of the intro video for gta 2. THat would actually make a decent drama if done right.
Like everyone else, was hoping for a show in the GTA world.
Is that in-game? Or I might be remembering it wrong, but either way it does look pretty good.
