http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23913818
The UK has become the drug and alcohol "addictions capital of Europe", a think tank has warned. The Centre for Social Justice - set up by Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith - said drink and drug abuse cost the UK £36bn a year. Its report warned that the UK has become a hub for websites peddling potentially dangerous "legal highs". The CSJ also criticised the government for failing to tackle heroin addiction and cheaply available alcohol. The report, No Quick Fix, found that last year 52 people in England and Wales died after taking legal highs, up from 28 the previous year. The substances, sometimes referred to as club drugs and including Salvia and Green Rolex, are often marketed as bath salts or research chemicals. But the drugs can be sold legally as long as they are clearly marked "not for human consumption", but have been known to cause permanent bladder damage, blood poisoning and death. According to the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), there are now more than 130 UK-registered websites selling the products cheaply by mail order - making postal service workers unwitting drug mules. my county has more heroin users per capita than any other place in the uk
Woo! We're the best at something!
Let's just blame the weather and close the book.
I think you need only take a few steps into the nearest city to see the evidence. In my town you can't go more than a block without seeing someone who's an alcoholic or a smack fiend. I'm guessing this study takes into account cannabis - I know less people who don't/haven't smoked it than those who have. Similar story with mkat/coke
addicted to the dole
1,2,3 smoke weed everyday!
I will agree it is extremely easy to get legal highs here.
i blame david cameron
god bless america
I live in The North East and can't visit a built up area without seeing at least one alcoholic or drug addict; they've become common place really.
The report, No Quick Fix, found that last year 52 people in England and Wales died
Great reporting.
I bet it's the weather. Case closed.
my county has more heroin users per capita than any other place in the uk
Fife lad?
The substances, sometimes referred to as club drugs and including Salvia
Salvia is not a club drug lol. Also it's totally harmless. Synthetics are nasty though.
Let's just blame the immigrants and close the book.
That sounds more accurate
I wish I was around for the 90's music scene in the UK for the drugs (as well as the music obviously) gotta go MDMA
Salvia is not a club drug lol. Also it's totally harmless. Synthetics are nasty though.
Synthetic cannabinoids are nasty because you're consuming a pure chemical, when properly made, and mixed with others to balance it out, you can make your own mix that's quite similar to the real deal. Also because idiots treat it like actual weed and smoke too much of it, you don't need much at all. Other synthetics, specifically the ones in PiHKAL and TiHKAL are all unique and most of them are fun and safe in moderation.

yeah fuck this im moving to germany
The substances, sometimes referred to as club drugs and including Salvia and Green Rolex, are often marketed as bath salts or research chemicals.
Didnt expect such shoddy journalism from the BBC. Green Rolex is the name of the pills which have caused deaths recently in the UK, as they were sold as ecstasy but actually contained PMA. No one willingly buys PMA, and its not a legal high...
Fife lad?
Oh cool, me too.
Another title to add to our list.
What is the word for the opposite of propaganda? Our government constantly seems to come up with negative crap. Edit: bad reading
That sounds more accurate
Let's blame immigrants for the weather and have the whole thing sorted. Then lets go down to the pub and get smashed.
It was my neighbours sons first birthday yesterday, so she took him to the pub and got pissed. Such is life on a British council estate.
Weed : No reported deaths linked directly to smoking it as far as i'm aware Synthetics: loads Enough reason to avoid synthetics for me.
Moderation is key. Also know what you're about to take, what it does/could do, etc. It's foolish to do any drug without having some knowledge about it.
Oh cool, me too.
Aberdeenshire here, but we play host to a large town called Fraserburgh which is renowned for this stuff
yeah no shit we've got fuckin GLASGOW what do you expect jesus
Aberdeenshire here, but we play host to a large town called Fraserburgh which is renowned for this stuff
That and Torry, Northfield, Tillydrone, Kincorth and parts of Mannofield.
