Only one-third of the population expressly rejects this hypothesis, while another 23 percent of Russians remain undecided, according to the survey. The research center also revealed that individuals with higher levels of education and enviable salaries were more likely to embrace such theories than their less-educated, lower-earning counterparts. Among those who believe in the existence of such an impalpable entity, 22 percent think it is composed of oligarchs and prominent business leaders from around the globe. Another 6 percent believe it is run by the United States. Yet more than half of those who believe in the entity's existence are unable to identify who — or what — it is comprised of. Respondents to the survey listed "Jews," "masons" and "Great Britain," as among the groups that may be secretly running the show. The survey also showed that 48 percent of those who believe in the existence of this global force are uncertain about its primary motive, or the reason for its existence. Another 32 percent of those who believe in its existence think that its goal lies in world domination, while 10 percent said its aim is to enrich a select number of people. The survey was conducted in late August among 1,600 adults from across 42 Russian regions. The statistical margin of error did not exceed 3.4 percent.
You mean you don't?

About time we had a "X% of people believe/not believe in Y" and the people not be Americans.
Source link redirects to the main page.
Illuminati deleted it.
Source link redirects to the main page.
I think it's because I linked to the mobile version of the site. Just remove 'mobile' from the text and it should work. I would edit the OP but for some reason it won't let me.

Does the media run shows touting conspiracy theories in Russia? Because I know RT runs several here.
I can't find any source of the info they talk about. The article seems strange. They refer to
The Russian Public Opinion Research Center
But on their website (www.wciom.com/index.php) there are no clues of such study and russian news sources don't report anything like it. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline]
Does the media run shows touting conspiracy theories in Russia? its what they want you to believe
its what they want you to believe
I think there is more truth to what you say than even you realize. All conspiracies along I bet it is just a few extremely rich people, subtly manipulating specific strings, which in turn motivate the 'wheels of change' to roll in just the right way as to bring them more wealth. Then, through what could only be termed as a part of the chaos theory, all manner of conspiracies and insanity come forth. Some of it is made up, some of it holds keys of truth, but none of it is directly a result of the other. Merely a coincidence if not symptom of and nothing more. That isn't to say specific events weren't orchestrated or covered up in order to further political agenda. Just that I don't always tend to think the World is dominated by Lizard Aliens who empower a select few 'hybrid' illuminati that operate in cult fashion. Orchestrating wild events throughout history in order to control man and eat their children. Lol. But it is fairly well known that many US presidents, senators, and congressmen have been apart of such 'cults' as Skull & Bones and the Free Masons.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if many western countries had a somewhat similar number
I read somewhere that Russians a more likely to believe in conspiracy theories than other nationalities, especially when America is involved. The Kennedy assassination (it wasn't a communist, it was warmongers in the US government working for the military-industrial complex), moon landing (the Americans faked it because they were losing the space race to Russia), 9/11 (Americans were once again tricked by business elements within their government), support for Israel (US is being led around by its Zionist shadow leaders). It has a lot to do with maintaining a sense of patriotism when your own country has suffered a perceived defeat. Knocking down your enemy's credibility is one way of doing that.
If I was to answer the Yes/No question: "Do you believe that the Illuminati is real?", I would vote no, as I can't be sure of the answer. But, if I was to answer the Yes/No question: "Is the Illuminati real?", I'd say yes. Because the super rich and powerful are bound to communicate secretly and discuss plans for furthering their self serving or even ideological goals. And those same people might as well call it "The Illuminati", just to fuck with other groups heads, and give the illusion of having much greater power than they actually posses. If anyone here cannot distinguish the difference between these two questions: "Do you believe that the Illuminati is real?" or "Is the Illuminati real?", feel free to ask. Or maybe I'll explain if I get enough dumbs.
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if many western countries had a somewhat similar number
Actually if I remember correctly, in the US conspiracy theories peaked around 06 and have declined sharply in popularity since then.

Unfortunately most are written in Russian but the ones that I have been able to read are very different from the Western/American variety.
I wouldn't doubt that a small group of power brokers would gather together and plan on how to use their power to run the world. They're not all powerful though.
Not a big surprise, but i mean hell, 4% of the US, thinks Obama is a lizard.
Not a big surprise, but i mean hell, 4% of the US, thinks Obama is a lizard.
Is he not? edit: you know with this avatar I probably look like some nut that legit believes he's a muslim lizard.
I mean just for instance, imagine Dyatlov Pass. In most Alien incidents in US Conspiracy lore, aliens are malevolent/benevolant(depending on the theory) but don't out right attack people. In Russian Conspiracy circles, the hikers killed in the Pass were either attacked by Soviet Forces using experimental weapons, attacked by some sort of yeti or mutant, or actually attacked by aliens. [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Or the Soviet Air Battles against UFOs.

I remember some fascinating ones about siberian dolmens being parts of misterious alien structures or something, or about hunters, that sometimes found a shelter from a blizzard in some strange caves made of metal in the middle of the taiga.
sample group was probably like 12 people out of a college.
www.itanimulli.org COINCIDENCE? THERE IS NO SUCH THING.

Russia actually has a very rich history of UFO sightings, dating back hundreds of years. Some of them are pretty damn violent.

[editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Its one of the Reasons I love the X-Files, because it combined all of them.
My belief is that all conspiracy theories come from a completely sane person, just telling the crazy person they know some bullshit, which the crazy person actually believes, and he tells all of his other conspiracy theorists friends the conspiracy, the majority of their sources just lead to other conspiracy theorists pages and blogs. Once this circle jerk of misinformation has been going on long enough, the dumb uneducated population starts to believe it because there are enough people in the circle jerk to make it seem believable. Fuck it I might as well grab my tinfoil hat.
