GOP rep: ‘Nobody dies because they don’t have access to healthcare’
Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) drew intense jeers at a town hall Friday when he defended the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal plan by claiming nobody dies due to lack of access to health care.
One day after the House passed the American Health Care Act, Labrador faced off with constituents at a town hall at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, according to the Idaho Statesman.
One woman stood up and said the GOP bill, which makes major cuts to Medicaid, was essentially telling people to die.
“That line is so indefensible,” Labrador shot back. “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to health care.”
Haha, his name is actually Labrador.
He's also as clueless as them.
(labs are great dogs though)
Nah they don't die, they just go into crippling 6 figure debt.
And Democrats are supposed to be the ones out of touch with reality?
You're right, they die because they have to make the choice of either getting better or not being in obscene debt. You cunt.
I can play that game too.
"Nobody dies from heart attacks."
You don't need your heart meds, Representative. Fork 'em over.
"Nobody dies from blood clots."
Blood thinners!? You don't need no stinking blood thinners!
"Nobody dies from gunshot wounds."
Security detail?! What on Earth do you need body guards for?!
I cannot even. This is fucked.
Mental illnesses like depression and anxiety are on there. Great. I can't get health insurance even now so I can't get it then either.
'Nobody dies from a lack of Oxygen!' Oh wait...
Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) drew intense jeers
Only jeers?! With a statement like that he got off bloody lightly, Jesus Fucking Christ. In a better world, he would have drawn rotten tomatoes and rusty dog food tins, maybe even a little gunfire if we were lucky.
Mental illnesses like depression and anxiety are on there. Great. I can't get health insurance even now so I can't get it then either.
why the fuck are those two even on the list? they're not expensive at all to treat, i could understand shit like excessive smoking but at this point you need to be a perfectly healthy person to not be on that list. and if you're perfectly healthy, you're probably not going to use that insurance very often anyways
I dunno, if a person cant afford inflated hospital bills and has their insurance under the ACA gutted, they're going to die alright. Why are these out of touch old fucks in charge of anything?
. and if you're perfectly healthy, you're probably not going to use that insurance very often anyways
Hmmm
I mean technically that's the thing that eventually kills everyone. Hypoxia, in the end, we all die of it.
On Topic: Fuck this guy, completely and utterly out of touch with healthcare. He's right though, no one dies from healthcare bills.. but they'll die of not being able to get a doctor when the hospitals shut down because they're not making any money for their services.
That does raise the question: if the majority of hospitals did end up going bankrupt and shutting down, how fucked would America be?
I just hope that, one day, we can just mass-fabricate medicine at a fraction of the current day cost. And preferably bio-recycle the fucknuts who jack up the price of medicines out of sheer greed.
As anyone who has worked in medicine can tell you, people in the US already die all the time as a direct result of not getting medical attention until it's too late.
Why does that happen? They wait until their symptoms are unbearable before going to the hospital, because they know how fucking rediculous medical bills are.
It makes me physically shake with anger reading this shit.
Well at least their constituents are finally starting to see how fucked up it is and they'll be voted out at the next election then trump can be cockblocked even harder than he is now.

Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition.

trump did say the government needs a good shutdown, maybe americans need a good culling too

a Labrador would be better suited than this moron

I'd trust a Labrador to run this country more than most anyone who currently holds the highest seats of power in this country.
This is the party that made a massive stink about supposed "Death Panels" when the healthcare plan was being implemented. The party that lied, and lied, and lied about it for months, whining their asses off about how Obama was gonna' have granny killed.
I guess it was just that though, a lie, and the full admission of it had to come out eventually. They really don't give a rat's ass about how well you're cared for, they don't give a rat's ass about the health of this nation's population, or the degree of education we receive. They want to sit in washington and rake in our taxes while giving nothing back, shoveling everything they can into the military so that they can appease their fucking war-boner while our country slowly deteriorates towards the state of some third-world shithole.
What happens to you isn't important to them, they'd strike an infrastructure deal to refurbish the pipes in your city with lead if it was an opportunity to make money.
I don't fucking get it.
40 000 people a year
FORTY THOUSAND PEOPLE A YEAR
"no one dies because they don't have access to healthcare"

At least they're good boys.
I hope this wins Politifact's lie of the year, but who knows, we still have like 7 more months left.
Technically, this is sorta true. You can go in and be treated no matter what.
But there's probably exceptions and it neglects the whole crushing their family in debt thing. That means there will indubitably be cases where people opt for death.
If this passes, pretty much everyone is affected.
You should see the long list of things on there. *conspiracy theory* I think that it's their sick twisted way to weed out the population and only select the fittest, richest, whitest people.
What is the train of thought that leads someone to make such a statement?
Technically, this is sorta true. You can go in and be treated no matter what.
That's not always true though. It's not true for chronic or long term conditions that will kill you if not treated in the early stages. Sure, they'll be forced to try to do something once you're about to die from it but there's nothing they can do at that point.
There's another term for long term or chronic conditions for someone who doesn't have health care yet, what was that term again? I think it's the term for the type of condition that prevents you from being able to get health insurance at all under the new bill...

"fuck you got mine"
Here's a harvard-backed study from 2009 that I found in 2 seconds by googling "deaths per year by lack of healthcare" that says 45,000 deaths.
Fuck.
