Wisconsin: Marijuana legalization to appear on ballot
MADISON, WI — Voters in the Wisconsin capital city of Madison, and the rest of Dane County, will vote on a non-binding referendum this spring asking residents if they think marijuana should be legalized in the state.
The question was placed on the spring 2014 ballot by country supervisors to see where voters stand on the issue.
“The question was an advisory non-binding referendum for the spring election asking the Dane County residents if they think the state government should enact policy to legalize marijuana,” said County Supervisor Leland Pan, who pushed to put the issue before voters.
While the question is non-binding, it gives voters the opportunity to express to lawmakers how they feel on the issue of marijuana legalization.
Recent polls have found that a majority of Americans support marijuana legalization, as well as half of Wisconsin voters. And that includes County Supervisor Leland Pan.
(twin cities, whitewater, or madison)
With marijuana legalization occurring in more and more states, now would be an excellent time to invest in whatever company makes those little powdered donuts.

Excellent time to buy a fast food franchise near a university.
Because it's not like people aren't already smoking blunts while walking through Madison or that private ownership of weed isn't semi-legal on the local level there. I really hope this causes some change.

I think you know what the right choice is.
I'd really rather they didn't. I like my state the way it is.

You need to move with the times, all this will do is make something that a large percentage of the population does more acceptable and more in the open
I remember hearing about it failing in State Senate.
today
"its fucking cold up here, go packers"
once passed
"its fucking cold up here, but at least ive got weed, also go packers"

'Cept we don't bitch about the cold.
Balmy as fuck today.
Its interesting how people think America is some barbaric backwater yet we are becoming more and more progressive on this issue compared to most European nations. As far as I know marijuana isn't being talked about as seriously anywhere else.
I grew up in Wisconsin. Recently moved to Florida now and they are about to get Medical Marijuana on the 2014 ballot as well.
It's inevitable this is going to cascade over the U.S at some point.
Just out of curiosity but how is employment in other states handled? One of the first things they do in ohio is drug test you- legal or not, test positive and you limit yoursel to mostly minimum wage jobs.
