Hello there, facepunchers. I figured that's the right thread for my message.
We've just started with a new, innovative concept- Project Genesis.
It's not really about Gmod, although you may use Gmod for it!
This is NOT a Gmod gamemode.
The whole idea behind Project Genesis is to create a new universum, that can later be used as a base for creating different forms of art. A fictional world set on Earth in 2124, where the whole planet (and Titan, the Saturn's moon) is ruled by a single, communist government. We've got our inspirations from Mirror's Edge, Orwell's "1984", and different dystopian stories.
It goes like this- we have our wiki. Articles submitted to the wiki are counted as "canon". Based on the wiki, you may make stuff on your own. That means literally anything creative, as long as it sticks to the canon. That means:

[*]Making screenshots in Gmod
[*]Making music
[*]Making videos
[*]Playing our soon-to-come forum-based rpg game

[*]Making Gmod models / weapons
[*]Submitting articles for the Wiki

To submit an article for the Wiki, you have to post it on the Project's forum in a proper board, and wait for the admins' approval. If you article is fine, it'll go to the wiki, and therefore, become a part of the canon.

We invite everyone creative. That means anything. If you have any hobbies, we probably can use your help. You don't have to be an amazing writer / painter / musician. You just have to like what you do and be willing to help. Enjoy ;)

Me? I'm doing my best filling the wiki, thinking up the storyline, making concepts in Gmod and writing stories. Why?

Because, from what I've seen in my years of modding, if the project lead can't do a bit of everything required for the project and a lot of coding, nothing will ever become of the project.
Cause they ARE wide open. ;)
There's the main "frame" of the project. Location, time, political situation, details to the world. Based on that- you create your own things.
Or, you add to the "frame" by posting the wiki articles. As simple as that.
Would they possibly be used for anything?
It would be like cool if you guys created a universe or something and used it as a base for your machinimas screenshots and stuff. Also I checked some articles on the wiki; they need some work, don't use adjectives etc..

The lead IS doing a bit of everything. And.. what coding? It's not a gamemode.. Try reading, or something. ;)

We'll be improving the wiki. And yes, that's what we're aiming for. Creating a universe to be a base for future art. Stories, music, anything. That's the goal.
As I said, we're just starting. We need fresh, intelligent, creative people. Then it will gain momentum and become bigger.

Yes, that's what we're hoping for. Contribute content, ideas, opinions, suggestions, and all the forms of creativity I listed, basing on the canon. ; )
