September 23, 2012 -- Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to treatment for substance abuse. Sunday's announcement by the band's rep comes after the rock frontman had a meltdown onstage at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas. In a clip that has gone viral, Armstrong profanely complained that the band's time was being cut short, then smashed his guitar. In a statement to The Associated Press, the band apologized for the incident and said that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel, the host of the two-day festival. The Grammy winning band also is canceling some of its promotional appearances. It is due to release the album "Uno" on Tuesday. The band apologized for the best thing they've done in 15 years?
the band apologized for the incident and said that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel
how much money did they pay them to say that? it was, uh, pretty obvious they chopped off 20 minutes from their timeslot
I have the slight feeling that they just have him by the nuts with some contractual shit...
That thread title sheesh.. Well hopefully they'll make a recovery on those cancelled shows.
The band apologized for the best thing they've done in 15 years?
Pussies who only cares about money.
Green Day is being oddly cool these days, I considered them dead after 21st Century Breakdown. :v:
I wonder how their new album is going to be. Had no idea they even worked on one.
I wonder how their new album is going to be. Had no idea they even worked on one.
It's really, really boring. Not really bad, but there's nothing incredibly memorable on it.
I wonder how their new album is going to be. Had no idea they even worked on one.
There's 3 (Uno, Dos and Tré). My friend's really excited about it. On another note, when musicians break their instruments on stage I wince quite a lot. I get their anger but those things are quite expensive (I know they can afford to just get another one) but why couldn't they give it to someone in the audience or something. I mean, that would really make the fan(s) happy.

Any video of the anger fit?
Does anyone know which drug(s) he was abusing?
Also first line of the article OP missed
September 23, 2012 -- Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is headed to treatment for substance abuse.
What are you in for? Questioning the power of the RIAA.
Any video of the anger fit?
http://.youtube.com/watch?v=pFkkDxuOzrs Apologies for my link, I'm on my phone. Anyways, think about it. These guys rehearsed on that stage for days, only to have their time cut in half literally at the last minute, in order to make room for Usher and Rihanna.
Hope he gets better
I wonder how their new album is going to be. Had no idea they even worked on one.
Someone uploaded the album to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovHNRSzb4Cs I definitely love Nuclear Family off that album so far.
Dude, the Who busted up their guitars all the time.
I know, that doesn't stop it being painful.
There's 3 (Uno, Dos and Tré).
did they seriously do that to the Spanish language or did you just make a typo
did they seriously do that to the Spanish language or did you just make a typo
it's a pun off the drummer's name
did they seriously do that to the Spanish language or did you just make a typo
No thats seriously what it is. Heard it spoken about a lot on Project 96.1 before CLEAR CHANNEL CANCELLED THAT ONE TOO AND REPLACED IT WITH A TOP 50 POP STATION GODDAMNITNIALEFNE- Sorry, some rage seeped out there.
It is complete BS they they are making the band apologize for the concert planner mistake.
no the band is apologizing for being coked-up rockstar babies about something pretty common [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] ok imagine if your boss cut your hours and you flipped out and smashed your desk into pieces. that's basically what happened here
no the band is apologizing for being coked-up rockstar babies about something pretty common
Well it was already confirmed they were cut short via staff.
did they seriously do that to the Spanish language or did you just make a typo
The drummer's stage name is Tré Cool. Its a pun.
Well it was already confirmed they were cut short via staff.
yes. and they're apologizing because they were big fucking babies about it. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] let's say you're working at wal-mart and you get a new manager. you check your schedule during work and you find out that your hours have been cut pretty severely, so you start screaming "I HAVE BEEN HERE SINCE TWO THOUSAND AND FUCKING NINE. YOU'RE GONNA FUCKING GIVE ME 28 FUCKING HOURS? I'LL GIVE YOU 28 FUCKING HOURS!" and slam the cash register into the ground. is that an appropriate reaction?
Smashing up a guitar is classic. Jimi Hendrix did it. But he was also abusing drugs; maybe he should have went to rehab????
