BOSTON (CBS) – The area near the finish line of the Boston Marathon was evacuated Tuesday night after two unattended backpacks were left at the finish line.
Police tape has been put up around the photo bridge on Boylston Street.
WBZ-TV photographers on scene say they saw a person with the backpack screaming “Boston Strong” before police cleared everyone from the area.
Witnesses say the person was barefoot, wearing a long black veil and was acting strange. It is unclear whether or not the person was taken into custody.
Boston Police say the Bomb Squad has arrived on scene.
Copley Station on the Green Line is closed while police investigate the bags.

Probably some asshole being an asshole...
At least it didn't happen again and everyone is safe.
Link in the OP doesn't work for me but this one does:

But it's the same link, that's weird

His isn't a full link. It's abbreviated.

"Witnesses say the person was barefoot, wearing a long black veil and was acting strange. It is unclear whether or not the person was taken into custody." If people were questioned for searching backpacks and pressure cookers, I'm sure as fuck this guy would be taken in.
Dat Edit ^

Yeah I edited the OP and messed it up.
Watch as it turns out it was just a bunch of water bottles.
Update: The Bomb Squad has detonated a bag left near the Boston Marathon Finish Line.
My local news source is a sister station to boston's local news, they put this on their facebook but I can't find where they linked it from since it just goes back to the same page I already posted, and there's no update yet.
I don't know if this means they just set off a charge in the bag just in case, or if the bag actually was an explosive device. I'll update once the source for this quote becomes available.
What is the suspect, or the bags alone that attracted suspicion?
I mean, I understand that people are jumpy about it, and have every single right to be, but did they evacuate over the backpacks, or behavior of the suspects? Because this could easily be two bags that someone just forgot. Even though you'd have to be living under a fucking rock to not get how that would be a dangerous and consequential mistake.
Are there more specific details about the suspect? I've only really heard one source so far, and it's pretty bizarre.
I think there were rules for the kinds of bags you could bring, mostly revolving around clear or small.

Good joke either way. Lets you see your taxpayer dollars get exercised.

The states, much like all other first world countries always assume lightning strikes twice no matter how impractical it might be. So now for the next 10 years backpacks at public events are frowned upon.

No one was questioned for searching backpacks and pressure cookers
Oh, so the marathon is annual?

The Police have freaked out about unintended bags for a long time now.
Also amateur terrorist wannabes trying to replicate major attacks isn't anything new.
The real life fake terrorist tweet.
I heard the backpacks had rice cookers with confetti in them. Great joke man, we're all laughing

Still not wrong: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denying_the_antecedent hurrrrr
(Thanks for the correction. I'm doing logic proofs right now so I couldn't help myself)
