Well, finally we have our news on Rambo V (Rambo: Last Blood) on the setting and bad guys. I can barely believe this, but old John J. is going to take on currently the world’s biggest assholes, ISIS.
Speaking at Comic-Con, Stallone confirmed it.
“We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds. We’re working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever.”

This is very interesting because very rarely movies or games star muslim extremists. Usually the whole topic of them being muslim is avoided and they are just called "terrorists" and all muslim symbols are hidden. The reason is that the legit muslim community gets upset really easy and the terrorists tend to kill people over the smallest shit (Charlie hebdoo is the most notable example).
That will literally put Stallone's life in danger.
I hope they still roll with it.
Wait, but Rambo's a Vietnam war veteran, isn't he?
Wouldn't that make him an old helpless man by 2013-2015?
I'd watch it.

I bet they will reboot it and make him a Gulf war veteran or something, but i've already lost that bet.
Then god help those poor ISIS bastards.
So basically Reverse Rambo 3?

Really depends. The Vietnam war lasted 20 years, if he was 18 and only fought in the later part of the war he would be as old as Stalone is. And he's 69.
It's still extremely violent right?
I really liked the last rambo movie

Could be in his 60s.
[editline]13th July 2015[/editline]
which holy fuck Stallone is 69 years old I had no idea he was that high up.
This will be pretty cool.
As long as its as bloody as Rambo 4 this will be excellent.
This seems in poor taste.
at least he's not going back in time and fighting, nazis or something
at least he's not going back in time and fighting, nazis or something
well he will fight people living in the stone age
The funny thing is action movie law where the hero hits everything the mooks can't hit shit will actually come into play here. Any video you see of ISIS fighters around 98% of is them firing wildly.

Rambo doesn't age. Instead, he ages, like a fine wine. Going from firey youth to a vintage spiced bordeau of explosions and pain and noscopes and explosive arrows and headbands and explosions and American spirit and testosterone and explosions!!!
With reference to the article though, this feels almost like a propaganda film created solely to make American attitude towards ISIS become more violent while hiding behind the guise of an action flick.
"RAMBO out to destroy the evil people who killed someone he cared about and DESTROYED HIS AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE by being EVIL ISLAMIC TERRORISTS who he now has the MORAL OBLIGATION TO KILL for being so ISLAMIC AND EVIL.
ISIS is evil, but I don't know that I like the idea of that message being put across in a very warlike format to a large audience for no apparant reason, when we've historically avoided using real terrorist groups in movies.

uh yeah with isis burning people alive and with all the videos floating around the internet, however average americans feel isnt going to be changed by some action movie
thats along the same lines as the "if people play violent video games, it will make them violent!" arguments

Fair enough. I probably overstated the impact this would have on the American people, but it still doesn't make sense to add a name of a real-world terrorist/militant organization when the genre has generally avoided doing that in the past.
i think they chose to pick isis specifically because they are sort of an internationally accepted evil. other groups could be controversial if named specifically because some people and governments sympathize with them and some dont.
no government and no (non-extremist) group of people anywhere sympathize with isis. still sort of weird for them so start now though

The USA fires an average of 250000 bullets for every insurgent killed, apparently.

It feels like his body is just a low res textured normal body.

:v:
Remember when Rambo strived for all that realism?
Me either.
Hahaha holy shit that is gonna be fucking awesome
I think it's funny that they sent scouters into ISIS controlled territories
Why the hell would you put peoples' lives in danger for a movie
UPDATED 2X: Sylvester Stallone’s agent has officially debunked this rumour. “Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event,” the rep says. “This is not an accurate report.” So I think we can put this up there with the old, wild rumours for this series, such as the persistent one that Rambo would kill Bin Laden for the fourth movie.
EDIT: wow fuk u mane
It's about time ISIS started appearing in entertainment. In 10 years time, we're going to have some new enemies in our favourite games.
Can't wait until they add Middle-Eastern terrorists in Call of Duty...wait a minute.
