Recently, allegations of match fixing in the Cevo Season 5 match between iBUYPOWER and NetCodeGuides.com came to our attention. The details are in this DailyDot article: http://www.dailydot.com/esports/match-fixing-counter-strike-ibuypower-netcode-guides/
We can confirm, by investigating the historical activity of relevant accounts, that a substantial number of high valued items won from that match by Duc “cud” Pham were transferred ( via Derek “dboorn” Boorn ) to iBUYPOWER players and NetCodeGuides founder, Casey Foster.
deserved
they knew what they were doing was wrong
Swag just fucked himself for life now. He dropped out of the education system to go pro.
He's gonna now have to backpedal into it to do anything now.
I'm confused,
so this cud dude bet that ibuypower would lose, and then transferred the items to them?
So much shit going on in the CS:GO pro scene nowadays isn't there? We get the VAC themed memes going, a good few pros getting banned on ESEA or otherwise, and now this.
It's like professional players are just people too, except they're good at CS:GO. :v:

They purposely did bad for there own profit

They rigged the game, both side agreed to let Netcode win. They all bet high against iBP and they then threw the game. Netcode's manager was in on it all.
So Valve takes action against match fixing in CSGO tournaments, but not in Dota 2 tournaments?
The worst part is how the entire NA scene will suffer because they were selfish
So Valve takes action against match fixing in CSGO tournaments, but not in Dota 2 tournaments?
I'm assuming it's because Valve directly runs 3 tournaments a year (majors) which these players took part in every time, and one is coming up in march.

Now twitch chat'll be a mix of "RIGGED" and "VAC"

Well, guess who wont be in it :v:

Dota 2's tournament scene is much more privately developed than CS:GO's is. Whenever a rigged match is found, that particular tournament usually bans the teams involved for life (or however long they choose).
Starladder has one scandal every year (which they're notorious for) and they ban the team for a few months and the players for life sometimes.

Except they're not good at CS:GO
One memorable one was the '322' match :v:
I remember this was like one of the only matches I ever bet more than a dollar on, it was sooo obvious they were barely trying during the game. Funny how the "rig" calls actually turned out to be right
Also to elaborate a bit further, the total value was around 7.000$ iirc. dboorN alone made something like 4,5k.
I really, really want a lawsuit of some sort.
Holy shit e-sports are so serious now that there's match-fixing
Holy shit e-sports are so serious now that there's match-fixing
Is money or another valuable asset involved?
If the answer is yes, then there'll always be shady people trying to sleaze out an extra buck on it.
Holy shit e-sports are so serious now that there's match-fixing
you should've seen the scandal that killed korean brood war in 2011, that was intense shit
Holy shit e-sports are so serious now that there's match-fixing
$4.7m was bet on csgolounge on the first day of MLG X Games, so yes, this is a big deal.
I lost $60 on that game, and I'm not going to get them back, not even with a lawsuit probably :(
So Valve takes action against match fixing in CSGO tournaments, but not in Dota 2 tournaments?
People support this kind of stuff?

This is like saying it's OK for Peyton Manning to give up a safety because kids do it in middle school football. Professional players don't freeze up like that; it appeared to cost them the round, of course commentators jumped on him for it.
