• Adobe, Autodesk, & Corel vs. Forever 21: Forever 21 denies Photoshop piracy, strikes back at Adobe

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2911052/forever-21-denies-pirating-adobe-software-strikes-back.html
Retail chain Forever 21 has denied making illegal copies of Adobe’s software, as the Photoshop maker alleged in a lawsuit, and shot back that Adobe tries to bully customers who are accused of piracy into paying exorbitant license fees. Adobe sued Forever 21 in January, in a copyright lawsuit filed along with software makers Corel and Autodesk. All three companies claim that Forever 21 “wilfully, maliciously and intentionally” used their software without proper licenses. The retailer skirted copy protection technologies to illegally install software on its computers, they said. And it continued the behavior after it was alerted by Adobe to its infringement, according to the lawsuit, filed in federal district court in Northern California. The companies want a jury trial to determine financial damages.
Although software like Photoshop are absurdly expensive for normal folk, forever 21 had more than enough money to buy licenses. They have no excuse.
didnt someone on fp prove it was pirated?
didnt someone on fp prove it was pirated?
Hi, I'm the guy that only proved that they used Photoshop. Whether or not those copies are all legal or not is another story that can't be easily proven independently; I'm not Adobe where I have access to purchase history.
Forever 21 has the worst return policy ever esp since their products melt after 1 wash and crumble in your hands after you touch it. I wouldn't be surprised if this were true. Cheap-os.

I've been following this awhile.

I end up there once in a while because they ever so rarely have that one item that is worth it, but lately, I've just had this vendetta against them. I have bought a lot of clothes from them when I was 16/20 and all the clothes I bought never lasted for more than 5 washes. It would either tear or rip. And they won't stop with the florals. As for crumbling, the hair accessories are so cheap. There is this leaf clip they have and I tried it and the freaking thing actually crumbled in my hand... My friend tried it as well and the bobby pin ripped her hair out????? There are a lot of girls who hate F21 because of some of the bullshit policies they hold. (Go on youtube and search F21 rant) As for their return policy, its either gift card or exchange. You can't return anything and the window for the exchange is 21 days. The store has a lot of crappy items and I don't want to buy another crappy item after returning one. One time I returned these horrible white shoes I got there for $22. I found out there were cheaper versions of the shoe at walmart for $5. ( I loathe walmart as well, but you can't beat that price and thats just a whole other story) Of course, couldn't return it, had to exchange or gift card. I spent 15 minutes in the store trying to pawn my gift card on anyone in the purchasing line in exchange for cash. Idk maybe I just personally hate F21 but that place has few items worth buying. I prefer HM.. :/

What the hell? Since when has F21 been so expensive? Going back to saying I rather shop at HM; HM actually has decent sales clothing that is moderately fashionable, durable and they fit me nicely. Ive never had a problem with them.
you know, I was going to say that it was a full outfit it's not it's 95$ for a single shirt it's literally 95$ for a shirt
I've got $95+ dollar shirts. But they're nicely tailored and always ironed.

the 95 dollar shirt is not the norm on that site they recently got a shitton of new mens clothes that cater to "high fashion" and weird shit like the links above but the rest of their guys clothes are still cheap af

Didn't make sense to me at all because there is 3 floors of girl clothes and I hardly see guys in there. The entire front store was empty except for two 30-something year old guys that looked like they should be shopping for shoes in footlocker. They had a few things in their hands and were genuinely looking interested in everything.

Of course some people are not going to be into, but of course some people are and OF COURSE some people buy it. These are FASHION clothes for a reason, they're not just clothes they are meant to be of a style and not meant to be of a specific quality. People aren't buying these pants to go to work, they're buying these cause they like the way they look and maybe they'll take them to work. Make a post about it, you're asking questions you already know the answers to so I don't know why you bother.

Me just adding that I just happened to buy cheap pants for work specifically in an unrelated quotation doesn't imply I was stating that they were going to use it for work. the site looks silly as shit to me, and so does the fashion. [editline]19th April 2015[/editline] I'm actually not sure what your point is at all clearly someone isn't going to buy fashionable cloths if they don't like the way the cloths look who would think that

People know fashion clothes can look ridiculous, people know that they can cost a lot of money so what is the point in making this same post every time fashion is brought up in these threads. Fashion is as much expression (though more easily individualized) as any artistic output and its just pointing out examples of clothes that are just confusing and weird to you is like showing me swatch colors of various hues of blue and whinging to me about how you can't see that anyone could ever like Cerulean when plain ol' blue is still around. "Walmart clothes dude says he doesn't understand nor care for the price-point of mid/high-fashion clothing" sounds like Onion article.

People are going to point out how dumb stuff looks whether or not you like it really. [editline]19th April 2015[/editline] also, complaining about a color and pointing out an entire outfit are two different things some of those cloths just make you look like a massive tool and a company that pirates photoshop (if it's true), is a company that's probably also run by tools

The fact that you are all debating which clothes company is better on facepunch means you all lose.
The fact that you are all debating which clothes company is better on facepunch means you all lose.
art and fashion is subjective and subjectively, in my opinion, a good amount of f21 looks like something a hipster weirdo would wear, not all though
I have never met anybody who truly loves forever 21 until I started dating an asian girl and started hanging out with her asian sisters and asian friends. Asian LOVE forever 21
