Ive always been fascinated by creature designs. So i thought there should be a thread where artists can come together and observe, comment, criticise and learn about just that. Ive had my own go at a creature, I call it a "Gremlin Drake" (although the name could/should change) Basically its a combination of a certain deep-sea shark and a dragon, im thinking of making up some more background to its origin, diet and such, tell me what you think: (sorry for the half finished sketch, ill add to it as the thread progresses.) Are you going to add color to it? Because the head would look great with a dark blue color. It's a very nice drawing too.
Reminds me of a goblin shark, probably that "deep sea shark" you mentioned.

Thats a good idea actually, maybe it could have some colourful patterns to its skin. anyway thank you for your comment! Reminds me of HR Giger
Reminds me of a goblin shark, probably that "deep sea shark" you mentioned.
oh god, those goblin sharks look retarded. :/ despite that now all I can think of is those goblin sharks, I was going to say this reminded me of two things- the dragons in Panzer Dragoon Orta, and the Drakaan from Aion. [/gaming nerd]
bump. Sorry for being away mates. had some stuff to do, but i have alittle more content for you. I hate the halo series, but im homosexual for the flood. (its just a way of saying it xP) So i had a try at it. the gun looks retarded i know, but i gave up on that half. Nice work with lines/colors. Me likes, especially that scarecrow above.
Reminds me of HR Giger
It's not even compareable to giger's. In both style and theme
Ive got a new sample i can show you guys. I should have cropped it alittle. But heck. Tell me what you think. Also, Youre all very welcome to contribute with your own creations!
Creature I designed a long time ago (designed it for 'Spore' a long time prior to its release... like a LONG time before it came out). I drew some more detailed pictures, but that was supposed to be the profile so it'd be easy to create: It looks pink on this monitor. It looked blue/violet when I originally created it with my older monitor, though. Not sure what colour it appears to everyone else on their monitors. Decided to draw their hands at the time too. Can't remember why, now. It's not like I had expected Spore to allow customisation of THAT depth. Downloaded that 'Sculptris' program recently and finally was able to make it as a 3D model:
