So its all over the local news, but there's no news article so far. And this is exploding over every social media.
What's the cause? I mean I've been there and I've seen how people from India are treated like slaves in Singapore but what sparked this one?
Apparently some bus driver ran over a Indian woman.

I don't wish to downplay the loss of a life but just one manslaughter accident caused this shitstorm?
They may have thought it was intentional, but specifically in Little India the Indians generally cross roads haphazardly without much regard for traffic control (the cars are usually expected to stop (and they usually do)). It still might be possible that the bus driver did it on purpose though, might have been fed up or something

sparking and causing are two different things.
An estimated 400 people rioted in Little India late Sunday night after an accident with a bus led to one person's death, according to the police.
The riot saw ten officers injured, and damage to five police vehicles, one ambulance and several private vehicles, said police in a statement in the wee hours of the morning Monday.
At least two police vehicles had been overturned and an ambulance set on fire, which sent clouds of smoke billowing across the night sky.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean said, "This is a serious incident which has resulted in injuries and damage to public property. The situation is now under control. Police will spare no efforts to apprehend the subjects involved in the riots."
Sounds like that one time there was an immigrant who waved a machete at the police and got shot to death as a result, suddenly there were immigrants rioting all over stockholm.
People are retarded.
shoulda lit the firetruck on fire not the ambulance

I'll call you when Command & Conquer: Riot comes out
I think all in all, they did very well to contain the situation. No shots fired, no fatalities.
There must've easily been at least 5 different agencies there, communication clusterfuck.

I have only one burning question though, why were the police cars just left there in the street?

Maybe it has to do with how the government handled it? There must be more to this story.
