Mix could use a little more attention, some of the synths are louder than others to the point where it sounds a little off. 0:51 is the worst offender. Sounds like the distortion is just heavier on that and the volume wasn't cut enough to compensate.
You can definitely make heavy stuff like this and still make it melodic, this feels like you just overused pitchbending to stand in for the melody.

Your synths are so cool. Dance songs honestly don't need a melody. I think can they can make up with a strong rhythm which that ripples song has. I'm no good at feedback but I think your lfos should cut off more and they should wobble in rhythm with the drums.
Your drums sound boring. Try layering a few snares/claps together to get a punchier snare.

Ripple has a bit more melody going on in it still. Even small things like not pitch bending every synth at the same rate and moving the last note of a measure up a note or two makes a big difference.
