Actually he said "this guy is unfunny as fuck" without any clarification that is his opinion, he stated it as a fact. That was what I was referring to. Not the he doesn't understand why part, that is obviously his opinion as he said "I"

What are you on about? How was he stating it as a fact? It was obviously an opinion.
Whether I say "Filthy Frank is hilarious" or "I think Filthy Frank is hilarious" they're both still opinions.
It's only a fact if I make a factual statement in my sentence, like if I said "Filthy Frank is 6 feet tall."
