(CNN) Security has been stepped up in the German city of Dresden, following two bomb attacks on a mosque and a conference center Monday evening. No one was injured in the attacks, which included two homemade devices, according to police. The bombings come ahead of next weekend's German Unity Day celebrations, which German Chancellor Angela Merkel is expected to attend. The celebrations mark the 26th anniversary of the reunification of East and West Germany. It's not really that huge news here as far as I can tell, in part being overshadowed by the US presidential debates even in Germany it seems, but this is getting a bit more worrying. I'm really glad no-one was injured. (Maybe the reporting just hasn't started properly since the police only notified the press this morning. I hope the auto-translated German sources are alright. I couldn't find English ones that have the same additional information so far. If something is unclear, please ask and I'll translate the passage by hand.)
fucking cant they just choose a different target at the very least instead of germany
fucking cant they just choose a different target at the very least instead of germany
I mean, it'd be nice if it wasn't anyone at all.
fucking cant they just choose a different target at the very least instead of germany
Who is "they"?
Who is "they"?
Whoever did the bombing? lol
Whoever did the bombing? lol
No shit. I meant did he mean a specific group?

Looks more like someone scraped together fireworks powder. Which obviously doesn't make it okay, but it looks more like this was done by some local pissed-off douchebag(s) rather than a properly equipped organization that wanted to cause serious havoc (which people may assume from the headline).

And if they were targeted 'muslim' buildings, then it's definitely done by the usually incompetent extreme right-wingers.

They've been trying to buy arms and bombs from Ukraine, if they succeed/have succeeded they're positively dangerous.
Might be a bad idea to down play their competence. No doubt they'll keep on trying and eventually succeeding unless stopped, but bombs in question and targets DO paint them as not the smartest.

That doesn't exactly sound harmless, but it does sound like they were indeed a lot weaker than whoever did this expected. There definitely was incompetence at play considering it took the perpetrator four attempts to make the one at the mosque go off. Unfortunately that's not always the case with these extremist attacks here though.
Nothing much more to say other than I hope these arseholes are caught. Extremism of all kinds is wrong and leads only to suffering.
No shit. I meant did he mean a specific group?
nop, generalized people that do this shit in general
