• Chinese cable television channel hacked
The revolution will be televised, at least in the eastern Chinese city of Wenzhou, where hackers hijacked a cable channel during Friday's prime time. For around ten minutes, viewers found every channel on their set-top box overlaying programmes with messages denouncing the Communist party, as well as images of tortured prisoners and of Tank Man, the lone dissenter who confronted a column of tanks in the wake of the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.
If they find out who did it I don't think we'll ever hear about them again http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/11007494/Chinese-cable-television-channel-hacked.html
I'm glad they used their skills for a cause that's important, if it were me I'd probably just put a picture of dickbutt on there.
Imagine if they did this with the big city television networks, shit would fucking hit the fan
Tienanmen Square 2014 I'm calling it
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
I'd say probably when this generation of Chinese start to enter the workforce and find they have no mobility or little opportunity, but the only Chinese I've met have been the spoiled ones who get sent to the u.s. for education and dont give two shits about school as long as their iPhone has charge and they have cigs seriously one guy showed up to a physics exam without pencils and a calculator and demanded the professor give him on even though the professor had warned everyone like a few times that he didn't do that
Glad the hackers are doing constructive things even though they'll probably be shot when found
The biggest threat to an ideology-based power system like the Communist Party is the free exchange of information, and that is what computers and the internet are built to do. This kind of thing is going to happen more often. The Great Firewall won't be able to keep up.
Max Headroom begins his anti communist attack.
RIP the poor sods
RIP everyone who saw Tank Man
rip tank man
rip tank man
true american heros
I honestly doubt a second uprising will begin this year. However, in the next 5. It's very possible. But I am sure this made some people question a few things.
and they have cigs
This is so true. I don't know why but an unbalanced percentage of foreign Chinese students on my campus seem to dress like hipsters and chain smoke.
Yes. And soon enough their silly wall will come crashing down and the land will belong rightfully to the Mongol Empire.
Yes. And soon enough their silly wall will come crashing down and the land will belong rightfully to the Mongol Empire.
Slow down there, genghis khan.
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
Shame that the west really doesn't care. They're letting Hong Kong basically get annexed and integrated at this point.
As someone who is recently reading about the Max Headroom and the Capitain Midnight incident, I would have seriously shat myself completely if I were to be watching that.
Shame that the west really doesn't care. They're letting Hong Kong basically get annexed and integrated at this point.
The US has to play its cards right with China because of the shared market and US debt.
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
If it were to collapse, the impact on China's and the world economy could be devastating. It takes time to build a new stable regime in any country, not to mention in the biggest country in the world which is so important in World economy. China is not a economically closed system like the USSR and other collapsed communist states were.
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
You're underestimating their nationalism. They all know what happened at Tiananmen square it even has a phrase dedicated to it, "6 4". They know that people disappear. They don't care about it because it doesn't affect them. They keep within the boundaries of the party and they'll live a perfectly fine life. The only change can only come from within, up at the top of the party. That's where all the change has occurred all these years anyway. And the change has to come slowly. Edit: I think here's a good example of a "slow" change. The newest president is trying out oust all the corrupt from China: http://www.economist.com/news/china/21610313-carrying-out-most-significant-purge-generation-xi-jinping-seeks-tighten-his-grip-no . They're now investigating a guy that was once one of the most powerful men of China. No one did this before. So I don't know, maybe some future president may aim for more freedom, the current one won't though, he's been more strict on dissidents. And I remember one of their former prime ministers saying that it'd take like 100 years before they'd turn China into a democratic country. Just overthrowing their Communist Government won't do shit, it's probably gonna do more bad than good.
I did say the Communist party days are numbered, I honestly expect it to collapse sometime in the next 10 years if not sooner
Mandate of Heaven.
As someone who is recently reading about the Max Headroom and the Capitain Midnight incident, I would have seriously shat myself completely if I were to be watching that.
I'm more amazed that someone managed to intrude on a broadcast in 2014. Things have changed since the Max Headroom incident that makes intruding on a broadcast extremely difficult from what I've read.
They missed an opportunity.
Should've been the Ashtar Galactic Command denouncing them.
wow fuck you i want to watch my tv
wow fuck you i want to watch my tv
Yeah, they made me miss Government Approved Sitcom #4.
Yeah, they made me miss Government Approved Sitcom #4.
Still better than a a black screen with "fuck communism" written in the middle
I would have laughed and thought "wow" if I saw that.
