Also, apperantly you now gain health through medpacks instead of potions. And finally, the presenter says Garrett cant go into places guns blazing, yet at around 17:00 in the video, Garrett throws a bottle at a guard and headshots another guard in slow motion.
It looks like a good stealth game, but I'm sure the changes and modernization done to the game will upset zealous Thief fans.
Doesn't look all that impressive, to be honest.
It looks pretty decent, the one thing that tore me up was how they changed Garrets voice actor. :(

No mystical elements, Ditched the Medieval Steampunk-ish Artstyle/Atmosphere, Lots of contextual stuff, and more.
at some points that video had some really slow fps
Doesn't look all that impressive, to be honest.
I cant say this enough quite honestly, but if you havent played the originals, play them. They are much better than this.
*Guards use fuck instead of taff* 0/10 devs don't understand Thief. Seriously keeping that would have been the least they could have done to stay in line with the series.
*Guards use fuck instead of taff* 0/10 devs don't understand thief.
I noticed this too and it did annoy me that they weren't saying taff. Maybe we should petition the devs to change all the voice lines containing fuck to taff.

It's like taking Plowing out of The Witcher games, you just don't do it, or it makes the universe seem plastic and 2d.
I noticed this too and it did annoy me that they weren't saying taff. Maybe we should petition the devs to change all the voice lines containing fuck to taff.
If the petition to change Garrett's voice actor worked then this would probably have been worth a try.
If the petition to change Garrett's voice actor worked then this would probably have been worth a try.
But there's nothing wrong with the new voice actor.
But there's nothing wrong with the new voice actor.
He sounds too young to be Garrett if you ask me.
I don't entirely like older games because they don't "Feel the same" as newer games in terms of play (Some exceptions!), but the originals got fuckloads of praise Should I get them? Especially if I like to attempt no kill play throughs?

Mainly things like setting R to be the use key and F to be the creep/move slower key.

I'm thinking I'll go stealth for ring. my biggest desire is not even having "Attack" bound, if that's possible without being awkward. It worked out great that way with Dishonored. Mirrors Edge worked great with mouse and Jump / Duck. The animation of picking up items looks like it would get irritating. If you pick up stuff as often as the old school ones, you're not going to want to have to do it dozens of times over and over. I'm really hating that Ubisoft is really overdoing the first person immersion stuff lately. Whenever you're out of control of your character in first person even just for a second, it feels wrong.

Good thing you can deactivate focus. Many of those special powers ruin the whole stealthy thief experience imo. I mean come on, slow mo? They just seem gimmicky and make you feel like a badass effortlessly. And I also hate how in most stealth games stepping into a shadow makes you instantly invisibile.
Man what's with that night vision bullshit.
why are you talking about ubisoft when this is a Square Enix / Eidos Montreal game.
Oh, fuck. I must have read Montreal and assumed it was Ubisoft. I was thinking about how much I hated the first person stuff in Far Cry 2 as well.

Like it's fun but come on :v: that and going slightly in the shadows to become invisible and being able to jump around like a ffuck behind people is very amusingly poor AI.
Fairly sure there's an ability confirmed where you can see through walls too. What happened to using common sense and listening/waiting to determine where people are?

Some Games are becoming more and more shitty as time passes it seems.
Man what's with that night vision bullshit.
Whoa, whoa, stop right there, Garrett had his mechanical eye for a long time.
holy dropped frames batman
Whoa, whoa, stop right there, Garrett had his mechanical eye for a long time.
Kinda right. Since he got his mechanical eye, he sorta got a nightvision with it. You can see such "nightvision" in T3, not sure about the earlier installments. Also, I have no plans to pick this game that calls itself "Thief", because it really isn't one. edit: Long story short ; Get the Dark Mod instead, made by hardcore Thief fans.
Called it long ago. I knew this would be a crap re-built game that would ditch most of the good old stuff and introduce new stuff that makes it easier and/or worse. Almost like XCom and the bureau.
