Just saw it on my YT feed, watching it now.
This has become more frightening than absurd. I really hope they get through this okay.
Considering that 'Bold Guys' lawyers already amended the lawsuit once, because Ethan, within all of his rights, contacted YouTube over removing the copyright strike after the video was already privatized, I fear that the lawyers will somehow use this video against them as well in court.
And that's just a bunch of BS that they're being brought to court over 3 minutes of a 14 minute video.
I'm a bit glad that Ethan and Hila are standing up against it, because if all goes well, this could be one of the definitive cases that content creators need in their fight for protecting fair use. Not that it should have had come to this, though.
Fuck bold guy. They need to set up a fund. I know they don't think they deserve it but they do. Right now they are basically the best thing about youtube.
I'm actually fucking pissed right now.
Didn't Google pledge to cover the legal fees of people whose videos are covered under fair use?

You know you're a complete manchild when you threaten to sue a YT channel over them making fun of your cringy video even though it's already in fair-use. Honestly i hope that Youtube helps Ethan and Hila with their case if it is going to be settled in court.

Even when watching the video in question I was impressed how kind they were at the end, saying how much effort he put into it, telling us to go check it out.

No one can see the effects of this development on youtube right now, because you can still see both of their channels as usual, but they basically lost control over one of them.
Probably over the ethanandhila one, as that's the one that got the copyright infringement strike in the first place.
I feel like Bold Guy shot himself in the foot with this.
He maybe could've gotten away with it if he didn't sue them, because I don't think Ethan would deem it worth it if he could get control over the channel back within a day or two.
But this is after Bold Guy sued them, so while they're going over this to court, as soon as Ethan and Hila hold the high ground, they could fuck him over for what he managed to do.
One of the worst parts about them being unable to access their YT accounts is that they can't make a quick video telling people to stop harassing Bold Guy.
Just going over to his channel you'll see a bunch of people spamming down-votes and posting a bunch of hate comments. The exact opposite of what h3h3 stands for.
Of course, internet mob mentality would still exist even if they did intervene, but it wouldn't be as extreme.

I thought he was just a weird bad acting creep, but now he's going to be forever known as a bully who tries to pick on other people for money. He isn't the underdog here. He's just trying to troll them using weapons that he himself can't control.
It may look bad for E&H, but this is going to end up really badly for BG considering he's not even covering his tracks. Like, he's just embarrassing himself.

The lawyer probably wanted to scare money out of them with threats, but it didn't work out, so he's demanding a trial by jury because he knows the judge would tell him to piss off. Those silly pieces look like they're more for the jury than an actual judge.

Watch the whole video, dude. They mention it would set a really shitty precedent since if they just pay up the same lawyer, or other lawyers, can go to similar content creators (like Leafy) and demand the same treatment, and it would fly.

I'm sure they will have to play the full original video in context for the Jury to get a fair idea of what the video included, if they do that I can see them just laughing at Bold Guy because he is so pathetic
This case is 100% getting thrown out, and I'm confident of that. They literally made up a revenue stream. I presume that the lawyer fronting the case is basically predatory and not doing a no-win-no-fee and is trying to earn money off of Matt Hosseinzadeh being stupid.
You can see Ethan's tourettes on his face acting up because of how stressed he is.
