A firm who is being sued by a 23-year-old lesbian for sexual harassment have denied the charges because they say she is 'too ugly' and 'no one would touch her'.
Priscilla Agosto, who worked at People's Choice Realty in Brooklyn, New York, claims she was subjected to verbal and physical sexual humiliation in the 14 months she worked there.
She claims that no less than seven male employees made lewd advances at her - even after she complained to the bosses, she said in papers filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court.
She claims that her male co-workers exposed themselves to her, rubbed up against her and even asked for oral sex, she alleges.
It is also alleged they even offered her $500 to watch her have sex with her girlfriend.
Miss Agosto told the New York Daily News: 'I hope and pray that by sharing my story, anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation will have the courage to speak up.'
Odelia Berlianshik, the owner of the Williamsburg firm, denies the charges - and launched a shocking attack on Miss Agosto's appearance, saying: 'Who would touch her? She's an ugly girl anyway. She made up a story because she didn't want to work.'
Priscilla's bosses deny the charges, claiming she is too ugly and no one would touch her
Miss Agosto's lawyer Brendan Chao said another former employee corroborated much of his client's account but that he only brought the suit recently because a complaint had to be first filed with the city's Commission of Human Rights.
He said: 'People attacked her ethnicity, her gender, her sexual orientation.'
The discrimination suit seeks unspecified back pay and benefits.
Miss Agosto quit after an employee slapped her across the face. when she went crying to Ms Berlianshik, the suit said, her boss 'waved her away'.
She admits that this incident took place but claims the employee apologised and offered to buy her lunch.
Berlianshik is named in the suit as are Mickey and Richard Berlianshik, the other co-owners.

Seems pretty unprofessional for her employer.
even if she is ugly.
Not the best looking, but I could see how sexual harassment might occur.
I dont really know what to think of this

Uh, you think "Wow this guys are dickheads and deserve to lose the lawsuit".
The employer's response makes everyone more likely to think he's exactly the type to get handsy with female employees

okay
daaaaaaily maaaaaaillllll
I must point out that in modern society, there is absolutely no legal defense against alleged sexual harassment. She could make up anything and it would fly in court- it's an allegation that always has the jury's sympathy and requires no physical evidence whatsoever. 'She's ugly, why would any of us be sexually harassing HER of all people' is literally the best defense possible, since the only way they can avoid losing is to make it seem implausible for no less than seven men to harass her.
Even if she IS hideous (Not saying she is, nor saying she's pretty), either way, you should only judge her on a professional level, based on the persona of the person, and how much she actually takes care of herself, and if she dresses appropriately. If you don't, then your a unprofessional dim wit fuck-wad who needs to be hit by a bus, and survive.
Not only that, but if your exploitive of the opposite at work, you need to be thrown out a window into a giant pool of bone chilling ice water, and stay in there for a few hours as your balls shrivel up into nothing.

yeah character assassinations are totally valid in court

Just because it's the "best" defense available, doesn't mean it's a good defense.

Sexual harassment implicitly requires that the defendant have some kind of physical attraction to the plaintiff. The only way to defend against such a charge is to demonstrate the implausibility of such a physical attraction. Crude though it is, it's the only thing that actually works. The jury in these cases almost always sides with the plaintiff.

saying she's ugly is just pathetic and won't help his case in any way.
thats a funny response.
but really, unless she has proof i dont see why this should hold

Yes because it's the best defense available, it isn't just good, it excels beyond that.
Honestly what do you think, something that's the best is disregarding all morals, there isn't an indictator if they gave a fuck but they supplied the best defense possible.
Also.
If it happened, hope she wins.
If not, go die in a fire for being exploitive.

Citation please? From my knowledge, the best tactic for the defense lawyer is to deny it, and have witnesses deny it, and at the same time, make her out to be a lust - incurring the hatred of the women jurors, and the jealously of the male jurors.

He's probably just grasping at straws by this point.
He has no defence, so creating reasonable doubt that he even has any attraction to her could possibly work.
Possibly.
she's too ugly, case closed.
In totally unrelated news, a serial bank robber arrested yesterday told police he could not have possibly robbed the banks because he has no money.

There's not really a legal defense against people having said they saw something.
Hell, if attraction had much to do with sexuality, rapes would go down a whole lot.
It's usually not about attraction, but power.

Attempting to make an outed lesbian look like a flirt with males would incite nothing but distaste and feelings of hatred for the callousness of the thought.
In my opinion.

because clearly its impossible that this former employee decided to screw over the company she was fired from.

I'm not defending the guy, and if the witnesses corroborate her story then it's quite probably valid. I'm just saying that the guy's response wasn't necessarily a tacit admission of guilt, leaving aside that it was a real dickbag thing to say and at the very least a little bit suspicious.
At the same time, it does seem just a little bit suspicious for an openly-lesbian woman to be hit on by seven guys, then only report this after quitting a job in which she was described as an unsatisfactory worker. So I think it could go either way, and there's no sense in leaping to conclusions based on an off-the-cuff comment by one of the (probably angry) people involved.
It's usually not about attraction, but power.
Exactly. That's why you have husbands raping their wives, women who are actually covered getting raped, and women in power(or threatened with) getting raped.

In which case they side with the other side anyway.

Yes, that's why I believe the phrase "got him by the balls" sums up his situation precisely :v:
Is the tat on her boob a penis?

I think it's a demented donkey.

I agree with the employer.
It looks like a honeysuckle
